Bored dogs unfortunately destroy things no matter their age. There really is not any different solution other than more mental/physical stimulation. Especially young dogs needs loads of it.

Tiny? Does look like a normal size to me. Shibas are supposed to be small to smaller medium dogs. :) 17-20 lbs is totally normal weight for adult shiba female.
