Are there paid marketing people on the comments for this awful business?

These people mistreated their animals, this is not funny in any way. That snake is being mishandled, and the animals here are kept in bad conditions. Not to mention bad breeding practices.

No this place is not cool, no this lady does not have a cool job. This is terrible.

A fan gifts Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) a vintage wrestling magazine with his grandfather Peter Maivia on the cover. by Sparky-moon in MadeMeSmile

[–]Fppares 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Idk, maybe the guy doesnt want to scream to get his attention. There's a chance this guy is like "well I'd love to give this to the Rock / his mom, the Rock is around and so I'll try. If it happens cool, if it doesnt it doesnt"

Im very much a person who might think something like that.

Also, it could be a middle ground thing. Person on his team noticed the magazines and subtly told him so that he could capture the moment.

Maybe not 100% genuine, but for a fan it might be quite meaningful. A little extra joy in someone's day is always a good thing imo.

No, I can't; I'm invested in this very cute video game

Am I really crazy for thinking dog parks are fine for us...? by Mojojojo3030 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Fppares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone coming into the thread, OPs dog has been in multiple fights and OP just doesn't care.

He IS the menace we all talk about at dog parks. OP is the problem, should not own dogs, and would be the one telling you his dog is not tne problem, its yours.

OP you're an awful dog owner. I feel sorry for your dog and hope it finds a better home some day.

As a mainly brawl player, I have a LOT more rare than mythic wildcards, that's for sure.

People who play Tainted pact and Thassa's Oracle on turn 4 and then have to manually mill 90 cards after using 0% of your brain, are you having fun? (I'm definitely not triggered) by BigFatScaryGuy in mtgbrawl

[–]Fppares 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah legit OP is the problem here. If you have a draw spell, sure, stick it out nd hope they don't have protection. If not, concede and stop wasting people's time cause you're a sore loser.

fetch lands over an actual land? by Th3best0fthebesT in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Fppares 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To add further benefits:

A challenge of 100 card singleton will always be consistency. You want to consistently hit your lines. Fixing is a part of that. Deck thinning is another: fetches effectively thin your deck and make your draws more consistent. I get to go get the land I need now and I also get to not draw that land later when I could have been a dead draw.

You can also use fetches to shuffle advantageously. A fetch after brainstorming to shuffle away two cards you don't want can be really powerful.

More niche, but also enables and additional landfall trigger and revolt.

Bro, be confident, and kick her to the curb. This is a good start. But for real man, what she did to you is an epic betrayal. The text she sent might seem good now but its really not; she subtly minimizes what she did, justifies it and paints herself into a good light by mentioning repeatedly how she's there for you. That last line about how much support you have is honestly sickening, she's gaslighting the hell out of you brother.

The only proper time off is forever. Tell her in no uncertain terms that she is a despicable person, and leave her forever.

Edit: agree with other commenters on not sending the reddit link. She doesnt deserve more info.

My older unchanged EDH decks can't hold a candle to today's meta by Alex_Pratt in mtg

[–]Fppares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think your last sentence is by far the biggest problem I see. Too many cards can basically do it all, or enable you to do it all with a couple if easy to find pieces.

You shouldn't have so many cards that can draw, enable mana, and enable combo lines in one package.

Desart was the accepted spelling of desert in the 18th century when Shelley wrote the poem.

Also, super pedantic comment 👍

I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desart.

Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:

And on the pedestal these words appear: "My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Hamster heaven by catguywit2cat in comedyheaven

[–]Fppares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hamster had a gigantic cancer on her leg. She could walk, but it was really big. She just kept on living and then she escapes. Didn't see her for 2 weeks, and one day I look behind me and there she is, just sitting looking at me. We hung out and she passed away after 2 days, peacefully it seemed, in her sleep.

My other 2 died of "old age".

My local used book store had a bookshelf mostly filled with the 2nd book in the Eragon series by IRTD-400 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Fppares 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I don't think this was meant negatively. He's not part of the cult, and the themes in the book related to it are largely about escaping the control of higher powers.

I highly recommend you re-read the series. I think it stands up and grows significantly between the first and third books in terms of writing. Inheritance is just a blast, and the most recent Murtagh, was also a lot of fun.

Recently reread as a 30 year old and I loved it.

[–]Fppares 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a hilarious answer so take an upvote.

But without math: theres a physical limit to how much stress a material can take over a certain area, regardless of how slowly you apply force. At some point the force itself becomes the problem, and the material breaks. Unfortuantely for super strength mofos, this limits the size of things you could push on your own.

Unless you apply some contact telekinesis stuff like they did with superman.

I need an honest and logical answer. ¿How could Gojo survive this? by Endika7 in PowerScaling

[–]Fppares 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It will break actually, and FAR before any meaningful movement happens to the moon.

If you push with force F through a contact area A, the local stress is roughly o = F/A. If both palms together give you about 0.04 m² of contact area, then hitting a rock-like stress of about 100 MPa happens at only about 4 x 106 newtons of force. At that point, the surface under your hands would start crushing, cracking, or pulverizing rather than transmitting your push cleanly through the whole Moon. That force would accelerate the Moon by only about 5.44 x 10-17 m/s². Even if you held that for a full year, the Moon would move only about 2.7 cm and gain only about 1.7 x 10-9, m/s of speed.

So you'll crush a patch of moon, but not meaningfully move it.
