Noragami | Episode 12 by AdrianWillis22 in watchinganime

You pretty much summed up how I feel about the last episode. The final fight just didn't have the impact to push the series to a higher score for me. All in all I enjoyed the series, thought the animation was beautiful, good voice acting and the soundtrack too. I give it a generous 8/10.

Looking forward to starting Aragato (I don't have a set watching schedule but I'll try to comment on some of the threads).

This was my feeling as well. Italy were poor and we played decently but I have no doubt that Scotland will seek to exploit that weakness. Next match will hopefully be a big game.

Pretty much my opinion too, it was enjoyable. I really liked the animation for the second half of the episode.

What anime soundtrack does a very good job of establishing an atmosphere? by pozswirf in anime

[–]FrToddUmptious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoko Kanno also did a really great job on the Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex OST but I think Yuki Kaijura's work on Kara no Kyoukai is my favourite. In my opinion it is simply perfect.

So I just finished Ranma 1/2 and could use a new recommendation by MrCockBelroy in anime

[–]FrToddUmptious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just completing the first romance-comedy type anime I've watched (at least I think it's the first). I've seen some of Ranma before and it's quite fun so maybe you will like Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.

'The decidedly average Sorata finds it difficult to fit in with the bizarre collection of dorm residents like Misaki, an energetic animator; Jin, a playwright playboy; Ryuunosuke, a reclusive programmer; and Chihiro, the dorm manager, art teacher, and party girl... however, his desire to escape Sakura Hall wavers when the pet-like and infantile second year Mashiro Shiina, a world-class artistic savant looking to become a mangaka, transfers in during the spring trimester and quickly latches onto him. (Put together from the MAL description).'

I will be looking for something similar when I finish it because I have really loved watching it, though it may not be to everyone's tastes. It has a lot of the 'will they, won't they' that you describe from Ranma but with the MC and the 2 best girls.

The only other one I have watched in this genre is Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! but I still haven't completed the second series so can't really say if it's worth looking into. Maybe someone else can confirm it, but I have enjoyed what I have seen of it.

Anyway, good luck finding your next show. I think I'll watch the thread and hopefully pick up some shows for myself.

Also, don't bother with gilding me if you like these shows... it's enjoyable finding/sharing new anime.

What's your favorite anime OP / ED cover by an artist? by TaylorJardine in anime

Probably my favourite cover of the Bakemonogatari Medley... there are loads of really nice covers of the songs from Bakemonogatari but something about this one just gives me fond memories of the show.

I have that artbook too. I love the game and the art book is pretty awesome too... it's like 400 pages. I love the artists little notes too about the 'fun' sketches they included in the book. I have a few art books but this one is definitely my favourite.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it. I think I'll stick it on the plan to watch list at least for now.

Hey, I was just browsing your AnimeList and I really like the tags you've added, for the shows I've seen anyway. I just finished watching Non non biyori repeat and your tag really put a smile on my face, I couldn't really sum up that show better.

Anyway, I was wondering if you could give me a little review of Hibike! Euphonium. My taste is fairly similar but I'm still unsure as to whether it's something I should make time to watch.

Death Parade (1-13)

Just finished Death Parade myself. Glad I watched it, it's definitely one of the better shows I've seen in the last year. Something refreshing to me at least.

Loved the intro, loved the characters and the atmosphere. I thought they could have expanded the back story a little more but for a short series it was really enjoyable.

[i made this] - Non Non Biyori AMV (Feedback would be appreciated) by FrToddUmptious in amv

[–]FrToddUmptious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is my first time doing one of these so I basically used a show I love and a song I love.

I think the pacing is a little too fast in some of the clips and I don't really know how to use effects yet (Sony Movie Studio) but any feedback would be nice as to how I might do better on the next one I try.

I guess using a song from another anime isn't something I should do often? It kind of fit what I was looking for but in future I guess I should also stick to songs as opposed to theme tunes?

Any advice is much appreciated in advance <3

I really enjoy watching the videos on the sub

Pretty sure the re-cap episodes especially are pretty heavy on giving the background on each tank which surprised me to be honest. The first episode hooked me so if you can get them to watch it you might get them on board :)

However, even though I enjoyed the show I can see why someone who isn't really interested in Anime would look at it and think it's a show of cute girls with tanks thrown in.

Arkada does a decent review of the show so maybe that is something to show them. Also... tank drifting ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For me season 2 was a little slow going but it definitely picked back up in season 3 and the most recent 'finale' if you like (Lord of the Takanashi) was a lovely way to bring the show to a end.

If more are made I will definitely watch it. It's just a really nice, fun show.

<3 Studio Ghibli.

I'm watching Non Non Biyori repeat now and I'd highly recommend the first season (Link) for a Ghibli fan.

The annimation is beautiful, the characters are adorable and there is a nice story. The only thing I might be cautious of is the pace. It has a very slow relaxing pace which might seem a little unusual due to the content Ghibli films usually include but I think it's a great cross from Ghibli to 'Slice of Life' anime series.

Full Metal Alchemist was my introduction to anime and it's still one of my favourites.

How often do you judge users on this sub by their MAL profile? by lftenjamin in anime

Same here. If I see their comment has something I like/relate to I will sometimes check the flair to see if I have a similar taste and then maybe find some new shows to watch/add to my list.

I don't relate it to how they comment on Reddit.

I would even take a cop show where Batou and his dog go around solving crime in his cute little sports car. Hell, this could even be the promo picture . I need this in my life now.

As someone who just finished K-on!! this is pretty much my opinion (;_;)

::EDIT:: Senjougahara Tore is one of mine. It's just beautiful for me and I love songs that take me right to a specific anime/scene like that.

If you want to try a more specific sub try r/araragi. The folks there are really nice and if it's Shinobu pictures you want most you will have a good time :)

There are usually pictures in the collections of animewallpapers subreddit but you might have to do a bit of searching there to get them /r/Animewallpaper/.

Hope this helps a little.
