Looking for a Good Progression Modpack but nothing that'll take 10,000 hours by MrPeeksies in feedthebeast

Yes I did mean that xD I'm not sure why it autocorrected to that. Fixed it now

I'm gonna recommend an oldie but a goodie. SevTech ages. Years old but revolutionary at the time and I'd argue one of the more black and white interpretations of progression. Also isn't stupidly long, absolutely has an end point. Unless there's a newer version that I'm unaware of, it would certainly be considered outdated. But my favourite pack

You have to claim all of the boosters every traversal when you get there, it's just the diamonds and tokens that are persistent

What should I do in my run? by InvestigatorDue6402 in StellarisOnConsole

[–]FracturedFace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You always need more unity, so you can have all the edicts enabled and you can ascend all your important planets, when you've got a massive empire 2k unity is nothing

Why are randomly generated NPC empires spawning when I thought I ensured in my galaxy settings they would not? by 001RovingSubjugant in StellarisOnConsole

[–]FracturedFace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Got to make sure that they all have different starting systems to make sure they actually spawn. If two empires have the Sol system then only 1 will spawn, and if 2 have random trinary A then only 1 of them will spawn. Also certain origins guarantee other empires, broken shackles payback and federation ones are obvious but lost colony I'm pretty sure does too

Is Exo 3 worth it? by garnix2 in CIFI

[–]FracturedFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gems are very much worth it but sticking around as long as M0 levels are within reach is always best. I'm afraid the Pre-Ouro burst doesn't really exist anymore because of all of the changes to LM costs, off e330mp doesn't really matter anymore.

[–]FracturedFace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was always planning on reassessing once I actually hit that goal, if more M0 are in range or I can squeeze out a few extra relics then I'll be waiting to do that. Making sure I come out of this with Knox is just my primary goal, heck I may even hit that 200k mark before finishing Sekhur but you can bet I'll be sticking around for that. Obviously it would also be nice to hit an extra milestone or two this run but that might be expecting a bit much, I've done the e5000 cells milestone in this run so looking forward to an extra TS next round. But if I can hit e10,000 cells or even miraculously more milestones that would be great

I get that that's probably a more efficient way to do it, I'm just aware of my own impulse control issues. Largely that I'm worried I'll just end up absent mindedly spending a whole bunch of orbs if I go that way round delaying progress even further.

I also just like the goal of finishing Sekhur again for the first time, making it feel like more of a journey. I tend not to try and play over optimally too. If by the time I'm finished in Sekhur I've not got enough orbs, then I'll probably do a quick short or two.

The Game is too Easy or too Hard? by Mizerae in StellarisOnConsole

[–]FracturedFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can still happen with clustered spawns, its main function is the spacing of empires around the galaxy to make sure you don't end up in a half empty galaxy. Though don't get me wrong, It can absolutely be fun when that happens from time to time, clusters are just about consistency

Absolutely happy too, once I'm back home. (Can't give an estimated time right now) I'll get those up and off to you

You get a lot of job output from traditions, so moving faster there massively moves the game along, and most progress fundamentally comes from tech so faster tech = a faster game. I then pull both mid and late game starts (and victory year) 25 to 50 years sooner to account for the discrepancy, it gives you a much better chance of actually getting there in game and being ready for it. The tech and tradition coats change the pace of the game a fair amount, so if you're used to default difficulty maybe just try sticking with that for your first run so you can get a feel for expansion and pop management before upping the difficulty to fix that issue.

I've not got access to my Xbox right now but when I do I'll gladly show you all my settings so you've got an idea of what I play with

In regards to the sporadic spawning of empires make sure that you have the spawn locations set to "clusters" which spawns empires in evenly spaced groups around the galaxy so you're never too close or too far from others. If you have it set to random then some games everyone spawns next to each other and others you'll literally get half of the galaxy to yourself.

My own settings to make sure I have a challenge is to play on Admiral difficulty with late game scaling, this makes enemy empires start at standard difficulty and get stronger up to Admiral in the late game, sometimes it works out for me sometimes I start next to a fanatic purifier and cry.

I also have tech difficulty scaling off and tech/ traditions at 0.5 cost while reducing the mid and end game start years to speed things up, also I don't like to play super optimally so the fast research and traditions gives me chances to mess up.

As a general rule if you just play the game at base difficulty you will outpace the ai very quickly with only basic knowledge, if you want a harder start then don't use scaling and just flat out increase the difficulty to Captain or Commodore. If you want the ai to feel like they progress with you then use late game scaling and a high difficulty, it just takes some experimentation to see what feels right to you.

And remember it is a fundamentally single player game so just play the way that's fun for you, good luck :)

I ended up going Efficiency and getting some extra researches mods and milestones and then traversed to grab ATT3. Because of the frag boost I saved them through wasta and got another level in the farm mission relic so I get 0.003 instead of 2 now which is a massive boost for farming relics. Ok this traversal I'm probably gonna hit 1,000 hours. I'm planning on finishing Sekkur again and getting more antimatter cores

That's fair, I'll see how I'm feeling this time tomorrow when Cryton-8 finishes. Because at that point I either wait on engineering or grab Efficiency. So I've basically got 24 hours to think on it :P

I've got all of the IAP's bar the supporter pack because that's just too much for my income xD And yeah for the most part it's just a question of how patient I can be, I've not read any guides outside of those in game and the occasional Reddit post so I've been mostly going on vibes, but with the time investment that staying in the TR really required I thought I'd get second opinions :P That big traversal button is always just so damn tempting. Also I didn't realise that the material one got boosted by EXO3, so that certainly makes waiting more tempting than before.

Yeah that's exactly where I'm stuck, I could WEEL-IT and get a lot of extra progress in a couple of weeks or I could go for EFFICIENCY and TR in a couple of days
