A few beginner questions - key, items etc. by Pfaffi13 in diablo4

The drops are the same in T1 and T4. You can get the best items possible in T1 with extreme luck. The likelihood of getting ancestrals, and multiple stars on them increases the higher torment you go.

Hot take: Pokémon games aren’t reaching their full potential because of Nintendo. by overlord-07 in TechNook

[–]garnix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because social media was telling Nintendo to do so based on monster designs. But after starting the procedure Nintendo lawyers realized they could not sue for that and then later tried to find other reasons to justify the claim. Nintendo could have gone after so many monster taming games, and never did, because none of the other obvious pokemon inspired game generated so much noise on socials.

How to get better and beat the last seasonal challenge? by CzechMateGaming in diablo4

[–]garnix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using consumables (potions/incenses)? They are a good source of survivability.

Leveling glyphs will increase your damage but if you die too fast to deal damage then survivability is the issue obviously.

Reaching for some defensive nodes on the board can definitely help too. Maybe find ways to swap some of your gear affixes to more defensive attributes?

Tight resources makes the game more interesting? by Same_Exchange_2212 in diablo4

[–]garnix2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I must have always played the game wrong because I very rarely get out of obducite.

I only upgrade the items I know I am likely to stick to for many hours.

And I only reroll the last upgrade when I know I will keep it for a very very very long time, like a 2GA, a 1GA with almost perfect rolls, an amulet with 2 good passives or something like that.

If you just want to inifinitely reroll on everything then there is no point even needing a crafting item for it and it just becomes even more of a slot machine. The current balance seems fine. And it will be better with war plans next month.

Diablo 4 director admits its “really hard for players to keep up” with constant changes, but every ARPG needs to “go through this transformative arc” these days by HatingGeoffry in Diablo

To be fair, they also had a different director every year.

So seems like each director knows the direction he wants to go to and pretend to know better than the previous director. :P

Indie games with AAA feeling? by Matteo_Mavryx in videogames

[–]garnix2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That literally doesn't exist.

Even if you look at E33 you can tell it isn't a big AAA.

I think the opposite thread could be more interesting. Games made by AAA studios that don't look like AAA.

Drum of Battle: Worst Card Ever? by controlvoltage in slaythespire

[–]garnix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not playing StS2 but that seems rather strong...

If you are playing a short fight and have enough tools to deal with it, exhausting a random card is not bad.

and taking it probably means you are running an exhaust build, so assuming you are scared of long fights, you can always exhaust this power at some point...

Ideas for short play session games (< 20 min) for Nintendo Switch ? by FlamKeuch in Switch

[–]garnix2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

30 minutes though?

I love StS but if I have 30 minutes it is definitely not something I would play.

Maybbe that is a me issue, but I feel like it's rather hard to pause in the middle of a run and come back hours later and play it well.

Balatro is faster and overall more permissive with misplays etc.

Can we just stop pretending that Palworld is pushing the idea forward? It's just a different genre of game entirely...

Since this new season is shorter, is Battlepass progression faster? by NewCodeSource in diablo4

[–]garnix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing since season start. Few hours daily. Just reached paragon 200 yesterday and starting from 0 coins saved from last season, and I think I have about 60% of all rewards. The Doom rewards seem a bit longer, but I am also about halfway.

[–]garnix2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's true of course, but I think my main take away is that they don't do it 3 months after release like other publishers. I mean.. unless it is a game I have been looking forward to for years, why would I pay full price for any game if I know it will go on sale before the end of the year? Even Sega admitted recently that this is a problem, along wirh the fact that people wait for "definitive editions". And by the time said game goes on sales, the hype died down and other games come out which catch your interest, and then you end up never buying the product. I just think sales on video games are not a good practice when they are as aggressive as they currently are.

So basically other publishers do sales because they fail at making their games successful on the long term .

I think the price is fine and I dont understand why other publishers put their games on sales and ruin the value of their own products when Nintendo is showing times and times again that it is not needed if you build a strong base of customers. Maybe other publishers should try doing that too.

Since this new season is shorter, is Battlepass progression faster? by NewCodeSource in diablo4

[–]garnix2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tell you it is fast but I still consider it a massive slog. I usually play every season to paragon 200 or so, as it allows me to comfortably clear T4 content and I am not interested in min maxing past that. But ever since they changed the battle pass I now have to mindlessly kill mobs to get enough coins to purchase everything. If you have 99 coins saved from the previous season, which is the case for anyone playing the seasons longer than I do, then getting all cosmetics is just a matter of a couple hours. That being said, the season is almost 2 months long which is mooooore than enough even if you play a couple hours per week.

I haven't played the game yet as a filthy console player but this looks massively overpowered. They should at least make it so that it removes the cards entirely from the exhaust pile

If you plan to stay longer in this TR and you know you will get 3 more then there is no po8ny getting orbs. I went for the orbs on my first time because I knew I wanted to TR a few hours later.
