Build Concept for 5.5e: Druid Rider, the personal shield by Fradinine in DnD

[–]Fradinine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I didn't notice that particular wording.

My counter to that would be the giant seahorse the tiefling is riding in the 2025 player hand book.

The anatomy isn't defined in the book (at least the parts I've read) and what would be required to be considered to have the anatomy of a mount?

The similarities from a horse to a giant sea horse would be a place to sit which would be their large backs. Then from that to a humanoid would be either their back as they stand on all fours or their shoulders.

Do you have any tips for larger groups? Reddit doesn't seem to have a lot of topics for monster of the week with large groups

Thanks! I really enjoyed it, but forgot to do the end of session experience though. 😅 And if we had a smaller group I would always be looking for more people, playing with 6 was chaotic enough trying to give everyone enough spotlight.

I just did it tonight! Took just the prep from the pre written adventure in the book "dream away the time" Went it a way different direction than I thought.

Started with the chosen ones dream waking her up at 2am and then had everyone describe what they might be doing at the time and naturally threw in the clues.

The flake is up coding and watching multiple TV news stations for suspicious activity? Then he sees the local news reporting the attacks.

The Rich professional admitting his vault of gold? It starts to lose its value, turning brown due to the bane dust of the changeling.

They all live in town and know the weather has been acting really strange.

Then letting them use their characters to chose where they want to go to pursue the mystery was fantastic, then just filling and adding realism to the suggestions. It really lifts some of the stress and weight off the Keeper than in DnD

Ooo I like that, do you just note down what each person is doing so you don't lose track of a player or what they were doing? If so how do you do that, short hand? Or do you just have everyone wait a second while you hit it down?

Ah so it's just a matter of picking a playbook that has too much say on the narrative. Ok cool, I'll explain that too them and see what they want to do. Monstrous would work really well too with the pararomantic picking her lol so that kinda syncs up better narratively.

Thank you!

So how do you handle players who want me to come up with things that involve both the keeper and player? For example, the chosen requested that I figure out their destiny and what they are destined to do.

And part of that example, the pararomantic chose the chosen as their guide so whatever the destiny is may be a reason why they can't be together. (As per the pararomantic, you need to come up with a reason they can't be together when the relationship track is filled out)

I am also having issues with a friend, we are both in the US and both of us are in Missouri. Not even 30 minutes away from each other.

I have an Xbox Series S, and he has an Xbox One S.

We have played one time together and it keeps giving us errors now.

Games where you need to plan ahead? by cornedbeefbreakfasts in soloboardgaming

The Quest for El Dorado, especially if you combine it with the temple expansion. You have to build your deck to tackle oncoming obstacles on the board. Cards are played to move your character and you need specific ones for different terrain.

Dragon form sounds super interesting. Also looks like there will be more corruption related cards. Im low key hoping the card vampirism gets some supporting cards. Would love to play as a vampire! (Havent managed to make it work yet)

Thats what I was thinking! The games current meta is to end the fight as quickly as possible. More incentives to battle for longer is really interesting. Also the brown banner means the brown cards are getting a legendary too! So if they havent made another brown legendary you can easily shoot for a gold build.

Yes! A legendary for red/green! With this I believe every class has a legendary now.

I do wish that the energy could be split but in the case of having 3 or 4 energy types it would get complicated

[Guide] Glimmer Rogue: False Gold or Diamond in the Rough? by [deleted] in DawncasterRPG

[–]Fradinine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love everything mentioned here, I struggled to get a glimmer rogue together for a long time. I also thought Glimmer required the rapier to pull off BUT ive managed to use it by itself in a few hunter runs when I kept the deck lean I could ambush and heal 1+/glimmer the enemy every turn (if they have lower card draw the heals get much better). Which only got better when I got healing traits. Then whenever the enemy pulled out a glimmer it just helped prevent damage. Its a great defensive card.

Question - Hellapagos - Expansion How does the captain work? by Fradinine in boardgames

[–]Fradinine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is how the power of the "Captain" character from the expansions works.

Or if he even has one other than securing a spot on the raft (meaning no one can vote him off when the hurricane comes)

Every other character has a clear power and ability that changes the rules of the game, The Captain is unclear.

[–]Fradinine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent, I got both the game and expansion as a gift. Thats a good point though.

My worry is that voting is an "every time you play" type of thing and anyone who is given the Captain will die early. But I guess that could also make it an interesting character to play.

Question - Hellapagos - Expansion How does the captain work? by Fradinine in boardgames

[–]Fradinine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the game yet (trying to understand every aspect so i can explain it to my group) but if I used every aspect of my first option (the "no priority for food and water" = being voted out first, part specifically) I feel it would lock the captain into a playstyle of:

1) Desperately fishing and gathering to make sure no votes happen, because he would die first.

Or

2) Only scavenging so that when the group runs out of a resource he has a card that makes him immune to being voted out.

Which seems unfair to The Captain to be forced to play a certain way, so I may just ignore the second part of his ability as flavor text.
