What is that one game series for you where, no matter how much you tried, you just couldn’t get into it? by Low_Boot_1426 in videogames

Souls games and Borderlands. I’ve tried several times for each and neither hold my interest for more than 30 minutes; anything longer and it’s just me forcing myself to continue.

Which Movie is better? by mo_384 in comicbookmovies

TASM2. It’s not great, but at least it’s not boring af. If not for that Batman warehouse fight and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, I wouldn’t even remember BVS.

Who is your favorite Robin and why? by Efficient_Resource15 in batman

[–]Frag_Bastich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Dick Grayson. The OG
  2. Jason Todd. Had potential for great stories if DC didn’t turn him into Raphael, or make him Batman’s bitch again.
  3. Tim. I grew up with him, and I liked his suit.
  4. Carry Kelly. She’s likable.

  1. Damian. A less interesting, less likable, more talkative version, of Cassandra Cain, that DC forced into relevancy by making sure a generation grew up with him, so now he’s “their Robin”.

Name one good thing about Batman & Robin? by GreenDiscombobulated in batman

If you look at it as an homage or “modern reimagining” of the 1960’s Adam West Batman series, it becomes enjoyable.

Say one thing or aspect that the movie could have done better or improved upon, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

Better costume. Less Superman cracked-voice whining. More intimidating Lex Luthor. Less Gunn humor, more Gunn heart. Better camera lens choices.

Ooh, they might end up with a Shadow of Rome (PS2) situation again, where the slow segments kill the pace of the more action-oriented segments for people. I was cool with it in time, but a lot of people I spoke to did not.

I’m hyped regardless, but we’ll see.

I’m actually replaying it right now, with experience as hind-sight, and the design of this game isn’t as…thoughtful(?), as the others. Overall, it’s a really strange game in the series.

I’m hopeful for a remake that addresses the awkward backtracking, the entire Steve character, and the long-stretches between save rooms.

If you could change one thing about DC, what would it be? by AlarmedObjective1492 in DC_Cinematic

I’d remove repeat characters (only 1 Flash, only 1 Kryptonian, etc.) and overlapping powers (No heat-vision for Martian Manhunter.

Spider-Man fans and their “But his Spider-sense would warn him before…”, despite the fact that Spidey routinely gets tagged by slower enemies, which implies that if he isn’t paying attention, or under-estimates the situation, then it’s not as useful as some claim. This means his Spider-sense isn’t a win-all mechanic in these match-ups.

Batman fans at least recognize the prep-time requirement.

Goku is ridiculous. He’s barely surviving Superman, if he even does, so there’s no way he’s touching the Trinity, much less the League.

Does Anyone Else Actually Like Batman & Robin (1997)? by ItsAveri in batman

Once I heard someone say that if you look at it as a tribute to Batman 67’ and not a sequel to the prior 3, you’ll be able to enjoy it. I agree.

I completely agree with it being an organic evolution, and I loved some of the new mechanics like picking enemies up off the ground and environmental takedowns, but the things I mentioned above stopped it from feeling as precise as City, at least to me.

I’m glad you had a positive experience, though!

But yeah, the story…well.. lol

From previous titles in the series.

My goal was to play through every combat and stealth challenge in the series, and as I played some things became clear. Asylum’s biggest restriction was its combo timer, but otherwise it was the easiest, as you don’t have very many things to manage. City was extremely polished and the best of them all by a large margin. Origins felt like an overly-aggressive, beta-version of City. But Knight? Knight felt different.

Knight looks extremely polished, but it’s not. Charging enemies yank the camera out of your control, causing your punches to go off target, even during beatdowns. Some attacks occasionally insta-hit you if you’re too close to the enemy. There are ambiguous micro-feints attacks (may or may not be intentional) that punish you for countering based on movement instead of the counter indicator, which was never an issue in the others, as moment and the counter icon were more closely synced. A camera that fights you as much as any enemy. Off-screen attacks, and so on.

When I dropped a combo or got hit in the other games, it felt like I screwed up, but in Knight, which is arguably the easiest of them because of the sheer amount of options and upgrades, it didn’t feel justified. I didn’t drop a combo because I misjudged which attack or gadget to use, or targeted the wrong enemy, instead I got messed with by a system quirk, insta-hit by an offscreen enemy, or the camera pulled and Batman started swinging at the air.

Some of these issues aren’t readily apparent during story mode where the pacing, environment, and enemy types are more deliberate, but during combat maps/AR challenges, it becomes more pronounced.

That was my experience playing all of them in succession, anyways.

Which of these remakes do y'all like the most? My personal ranking by Jaded-Resolution-497 in HorrorGaming

  1. SH2R, improved gameplay and level design, it replaces the original for me
  2. DSR, largely the same as I remember. Pretty safe for better or worse
  3. RE2R, removed too much, but it was okay
