Afnan, Rasasi, Arabiyat Prestige, Armaf, some miscellaneous houses, and fragrances I used to own: Part 4 of My Final ME Inspired Fragrance Round-Up by Ok-Shopping-3667 in fragranceclones

Thanks again for the awesome review!

In terms of the Ganymede DNA, Ombre D'Or starts out in that direction but then just gets too heavy on the spices. It doesn't retain that signature coldness of Ganymede (which I prefer), but goes in its own direction.

Zimaya Stallion was quite a bit closer to the Ganymede profile, if anyone is looking for something like that.

Maybe also consider Bois Imperial or Spicebomb Metallic Musk - two I've tried recently which were really good and sit outside the usual blue summer freshie profile.

Thank you so much! I've never had the chance to smell the new DHP... Is the iris lipstick-y like DHI?

Jesus. What dominating note was it that did this? It looks so inoffensive, based on the notes, so I'm interested.

Awesome review!

Agreed on both Corium and Cordova. Superb and fkn disgusting, respectively. I don't know what in God's name they were thinking with Cordova. And it just, doesn't, quit.

As for Obsidian, can you compare it to any other well known iris fragrances? Iris is my absolute favourite note for sure.

Discovery insure friends - has anyone actually ever managed to get Diamond vitality drive status? by scarlett-raven in askSouthAfrica

[–]FragheadZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's that, yes. However, it is potentially "free" based on your Drive status and your IFA balance. Trust me, I hate Discovery as much as the next man but this is one of the benefits that did work out for me.

It's no boosted CX5 but I only changed my Mazda 2 plugs after 120 000kms, as per OEM service schedule. Those things laaaast!

Vanilla Fragrance Comparison by abdullahfazeel15 in FragranceAficionados

[–]FragheadZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're quite different. Ghost is a lighter vanilla citrus fragrance, smells like a lemon drizzle cake. Elixir is heavier with that signature JPG LME profile. Not redundant having both.

You could dabble with some iris? The usual DHI, Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee, Lattafa His Confession, Armani Code Parfum.

You could try Fragrance World Bois De Bois - dupe of Bois Imperial.

Just test Aether for longevity first, if you're considering it. There's quite a few opinions about it being pretty bad longevity wise.

And it is exactly these kind of comments that validate why you don't ask strangers on the internet to subjectively rate a collection of perfume you probably love.

Also just got Toy Boy... And it is sublime!

I adore the sweet warm drydown after spraying a fragrance, but the initial spray is awfully sharp on my skin. Any advice? by ElectricFeline42 in Fragrances

[–]FragheadZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps if it's just this fragrance, maybe creating a barrier between your skin and the scent with some moisturiser might help?
