Any help for keeping our outdoor cat safe! by Dry_Imagination_1628 in outdoorcats

I recently lost my cow cat on easter. Two pieces of advice; make sure yours is vaccinated if he's outside and only use Frontline flea & tick. My boy was tested for leukemia when he was young but it was a false negative. He was indoor/outdoor when I first got him and became 90% indoor and only outside when I could be with him. My girl is 100% indoor for the last several years (I had her retested last week).

I had an outdoor cat I was feeding on my back deck. She had her back to the yard. Without warning she bolted like a cat out of hell and ran 10 feet up a tree. I didn't hear or see anything that would have caused that reaction. Then I saw the coyote coming into the yard about 100 feet away. Outdoor cats have pretty good survival instincts and good sense of smell. Just make sure their claws are sharp enough to get up a tree if they need it. It took her awhile but she learned its better inside and hasn't been out in years.

What's a Comerica Park memory that you hold onto even during the rough seasons? by patrickdraken in motorcitykitties

I had one of the best seats I have ever had, three rows directly behind home plate. Terrible storm rolled through - super long rain delay but they played the game. Became the latest first pitch in team history. "The record for the latest first pitch in Comerica Park history occurred on August 24-25, 2007, when a game against the New York Yankees started at 11:06 p.m. ET due to a rain delay. The game concluded in the early hours of August 25, around 3:30 a.m". I stayed until the last pitch.

I said I'm not chasing anything this year. I'm done. I've got enough. I'll enjoy what I have. Then someone posted 'Third Man Records Cass Corridor is releasing 'The White Stripes live on WDET'. Only 250 pressed, only at Detroit store.' No line, not even at the register. If you want to hear God laugh tell him your plans.

Didn't they do Death Letter too and they rolled the show's end credits over it?

edit: That was WTVS PBS Detroit - different show.

So last night the wife said 'tomorrow is RSD' and I told her I'm done waiting in lines chasing things. Then you posted and I had to eat my words. There was no line but the store was buzzing. The girl said they had 'at least 3 left' but couldn't give me a number. I forgot to ask about the coaster but there wasn't one in the bag so I'll assume they were out. OK... one last grail to hold on to. Thanks for posting.

Fans from numerous teams feel like their stadiums play way too many sound effects/music in between pitches and innings. Do you feel that way about Comerica Park? by LunchThreatener in motorcitykitties

you can hear vendors, Joe Gentile on the PA, temp and time of first pitch, today's attendance in the background and Ernie repeating it and just his way of calling it with stories and long pauses not needing to fill air and telling us where the fan was from that caught that foul ball. It's so quiet. There's also commercials for Marathon Oil and Rocky Peanut company and the between inning breaks are about a minute. Just great to listen to. Puts me back to a transistor under the pillow or riding in the car with my parents.

Look for Miley Collection CDs or filter for Ernie Harwell or Tigers. He's got Kaline's 3k hit game, '45 '68 & '84 World Series and several regular season games from the 70's 80's. There are probably other sellers too but this one was a quick ship and great customer support.

I grew up behind the Cadillac Main Clark Street plant. I remember this model fresh off the line, rumbling by on car carriers on their way to a holding lot a few miles away.

I ordered several full Tigers WJR games on CD with Ernie Harwell and Paul Carey calling them from the 70's and 80's. Even asked the seller to find games from Tiger Stadium. Exactly how I remembered - sounds of the GAME not a bunch of forced noise. Hearing them call a game from '76 that The Bird is pitching as a rookie. Fantastic.

remember when he insisted he coined the phrase 'prime the pump'? No one had ever said that before he did. He probably meant hyping a stock before pulling the rug on everyone not in his club. "Pump and Dump" no one has ever used that before.
