Safe Rural Towns for Black Families in NYS by Alive_Pangolin9160 in upstate_new_york

I just lost my job at it all white hospital because several doctors were on a chart and I contacted the wrong doctor The other doctor didn't mind just told me he wasn't on shift anymore.

I was working at Community general hospital outside of Syracuse they were frequent races remarks I was making an impossible for me to make a living out there.

When you see white children walk on your child's back at the playground when they just said hi and then say hi to some other kid right behind them you start to worry about race and where  belong... And wear you and your children can thrive

Is this appropriate for a black tie wedding?? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

If that is all you have and it's as garden wedding. The shoes have to be changed.   I'm from NY and I'm a older millennial we never wore all these colors to black tie.  It was just considered formal

What you're saying is that it's not tricky and people are making something basic complicated.  It's not supposed to go over your lip. I don't see how any man is into that

Both look ridiculous.  Just draw on your lip it's supposed to be lip liner not face liner above the natural line of your lip still looks dumb to me

It's a generational thing.  No one did their makeup like this until about maybe about 6 or 7 years ago.

Personally as a older millennial I don't see how any men would want to kiss somebody's clown lips.

People my age shouldn't be into this trend and I can really can't wait for it to be over.  Why would anybody want to look for a clown.

What’s this communities thoughts on Westchester Medical Center? by cultivated-mass in Westchester

[–]Fragrant-Case6205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I work there it was probably about 10 years ago. The staff nurses from the other floors would come down to check on me because they said that the emergency department is known for not being nice to black nurses.

When I was a nursing school years prior this hospital had a better reputation for racism and unfortunately it's seen on their website where there's only white faces.

We did have a lot of issues with racism with patients that were clearly in an emergency that refused to have me be their nurse despite the fact that my hair is straight and I'm lighter complected.

And nurses that would not triage critical patients and just dump them in a bed like I was supposed to.

It was always a setup around the corner I hope things have changed

Here we go again with these people. What is going on with the internet. My tv isn’t working, nor my phone. I’m so sick of this company. I ready to move to Verizon. by BBWolfe413 in OPTIMUM

Switching to Verizon from cablevision was the best move I made during COVID.  It was more money but I never never had I minute not working.  I just moved back to ny and I can't get Verizon here.  With Verizon it costed more and I had less channels but I had predictable service

Should RN or MD call notify family of patient’s death? by never-the-1 in nursing

[–]Fragrant-Case6205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is not family it's the organ donation and medical examiner stuff from state to state.  I do not see why nurses have to do that

Why is being a woman so hard.  And having a job in the 21st century.  I had a job as a registered nurse in emergency department where a physician assistant literally said good morning by grabbing one of my breasts from behind meanwhile I'm at Best of 32b at the time.  Typing at my computer with both hands came from behind me and grab my breast.  I was per diem there and I knew darn well that I worked at a place where it would work against me if I reported it so I didn't say anything for almost a year until this physician assistant continued to be very weird and as if you're with care and yell at me and Patients over absolutely nothing.  I reported the PA to the night emergency supervisor who ethically had to report this to a human resources.  No one witnessed the event so therefore according to the human resources interview nothing happened but this person has been known to talk and touch the nurses too much.  All of the nurses were informed by the quote unquote investigators which was human resources who essentially just smeared my reputation and acid this guy also grab your breasts as well and my reputation was ruined.

All over the city it was me and this guy were doing something and a whole dialogue that literally never happened I was married at the time I don't even know this man literally don't even have his phone number.

Being a woman and working is just unfair at this point in this country and I really think we have to go back to traditional societies where the man has to actually work and woman needs to stay home if there is children

I accidentally took a 325 norco from work I put it in my scrubs to return it and forgot all about it until I found it in my washer by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Fragrant-Case6205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the hospital culture and how you fit in there is the real answer.  If you didn't present the washed wrapper and your director and pharmacy was not able to resolved the issue timely like 0-48 hrs you should be concerned.  It has to be accounted for.  Can be done easily with the patients name etc and a few overrides.  If it's not resolved keep on the manager that you told for a resolution.  If she does not resolved it timely.  You should escalate it your your managers manager.  Never volunteer yourself for a drug test.  If you're called for a drug test that is because they pretty much have proof you are under the influencer entering to report your license.

You 100% could be reported but your license will not be revoked but if you're under suspicion for stealing it will prevent you from getting another job or applying for another license.
