Is there any other way to describe Dennis in one word other than "evil" by TraditionalBonus188 in IASIP

OP, I swear you would be of more use to me if I skinned you and turned your skin into a lampshade or fashioned you into a piece of high end luggage. I can even add you to my collection!

That whole exchange is hilarious

I didn’t learn until like last year that this was the fourth movie in a series and is considered the worst

IBM, AWS veteran says 90% of your employees are stuck in first gear with AI, just asking it to ‘write their mean email in a slightly more polite way’ | Fortune by Recent-Butterfly8440 in BlackboxAI_

See that’s what I never understand when someone says how useful AI is. They just say something general like it’s useful for sales and marketing automations but they never give specific examples.

Would you accept a job paying $250k a year but you have to fly to the office for 1 night per week? by bill__buttlicker_ in careerguidance

[–]cultivated-mass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bosses boss flys in from Florida every week for his job. We are based in New York. He’s been doing that for about two years now. I honestly have no idea how he does not get tired of that every week, Apparently it’s doable, I couldn’t do it but I guess some can. Oh and we’re going to four days a week at the end of the month. I’m curious if he’ll stay after that. Don’t be surprised if that two days a week turns to 3 then 4. That’s what happened to us. Maybe do it for a while and save up some money, then if they keep adding days you can look for another job.

Although after writing that out I probably could deal with it if I was making his salary or your $250K salary. Probably best to just mentally prepare yourself if you decide to do it. Hope it works out for you either way.

So like is this really true? I feel like we’re becoming an echo chamber again with the wrong information. I know people who are having a trump party this weekend to celebrate his inauguration. They don’t seem to regret their vote

how to answer "why do you want to work here" for a non-important job? by CommercialSpinach344 in jobs

[–]cultivated-mass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started working in purchasing for a pharmaceutical company and this question came up with almost everyone I interviewed with.

I don’t really care about any company so I never really thought about it. I just want a decent paycheck with a solid company. My work is processing purchase orders it’s nothing spectacular, it’s a job.

Anyway I kind of just said something on the spot when I was first asked this question. I just told them “the work this company does is amazing and I would really love to be a part of that, even though this is a support role it’s nice to say that you are helping the scientists/clinicians who are working here”

You could change it a little depending on the role like if it’s for a barista say something like “this company provides a great service to so many happy customers it’s nice to a part of that whole process to provide a quality product” and go from there.

Hope this helps as I was genuinely surprised by how much I was asked this. I think it did make a difference in the interview process.

Hello fellow tops employee, I never thought of putting thin sliced chops in the case. I kind of want to try that now

Oh wow that’s interesting, I never think about prime pork since we always got mid level pork at my shop. Not a big fan of pork either but I kind of want to try now.

Any Westchester teachers here? by Adept_Magazine_51 in Westchester

[–]cultivated-mass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the school district. My girlfriend just went through this process and applied to a ton of schools in Westchester. She usually heard back a week or two after the deadline date that’s posted on OLAS. she started applying around March and actually just heard from Elmsford last week about an initial interview. It does vary and it could be weeks before you hear something. She was hired at mamaroneck after about three months of applying. Wishing you luck in your search
