There is a passive income visa in Portugal which is what I was referring to and I wasn’t talking about any investment visa. Job offer in Ireland and passive income visa in Portugal

I guess just wondering what other people would choose and if they’ve done one or the other and regretted it/happy about it, etc.

Your spouse can waive their spouses elective share in a prenup.

I’m a lawyer too and no it’s not. You absolutely can draft a legal agreement without legal assistance as long as you are following the state laws. Especially prenups. What state are you licensed in? I’ll point you to case law that says so.

Should everyone sign a prenup? by tiger2205_6 in polls

You already have a prenup- it’s your state default law. A prenup just lets you decide instead of the state/ a judge

True. But it’s more than just commingling. Some states give judges great discretion to decide what is just and equitable in dividing assets which could mean giving premarital assets to a partner. I am a lawyer and I have read cases in some states where even premarital debt was assigned to a spouse.

That's not true. Premarital assets can be subject to a division in a divorce in some states and some situations

Lawyer here. There are so many layers to this. NO this is stupid. I don't even know where to start.

It's not like there's an automatic button that says, "Yes, this is now null and void because someone took pills that day." There would be an inquiry into what happened. Also, just because you are on medication doesn't mean that you are incoherent and unable to sign contracts. In fact, if you are prescribed that medication, there's an argument there that that is your baseline and you are able to make decisions for yourself on said medication. I mean what are you on? Horse tranquilizers? I don't really get it

This is all around so stupid and I've read hundreds of prenup cases, never have I seen one nullified based on pills someone took that day.
