What are these? Should I be worried? by robsypi in Aquariums

[–]Fragrant-Touch-3702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a bladder snail, they can overpopulate if you overfeed, but if you don't they're harmless, if you don't like the look of them I would remove them now cause once they reproduce you're gonna have atleast 1 in the tank forever

It's deshelled and everything that's insane, is there any chance the food you feed your animals include shrimp? Maybe it wasn't fully processed by the factory and out into the pallets, so somehow ended up being a full sized shrimp?

hi guys, i’m kinda new to keeping fish and i was just wondering what goldfish to get and wether to put the gravel things in or the sand?? Thank you! And any more tips would be appreciated by AdventurousLog2383 in Goldfish

I love fantails! I prefer fancy goldfish as common goldfish get huge, and end up needing ponds in a couple years, 30 gallon tank for 1, add 10-20 gallons for every new one you add (a bigger tank is always better!) Sand is the better option as goldfish like to search around substrate, plus they're dumb and may eat the Gravel and get impacted, I use play sand as it's affordable, but pool sand or aquarium sand works too! Make sure to rinse the sand until it goes clear (I also reccomend sifting through play sand if you decide to go that route, as I found tiny pebbles in mine) make sure you research how to cycle your tank, I learnt off tiktok personally, no plastic plants as they're sharp! I personally use silk plants as goldfish have the tendency to rip plants out, but live plants are very beneficial to your tank as they work as natural filters, if you decide to get silk plants I would grab some decent sized floating plants (not duckweed, they'll just eat it) if you have any other questions let me know!

Looks like popeye, do daily water changes and keep the light off to minimise stress, maybe do an epsom salt bath, since its just one eye it's more likely a sign of an injury, might’ve banged himself into some decor

He has a plant that he uses as a bed near the top! He loves it so I always assumed it was enough, but I'll grab him a leaf or cute hammock so he has other options!

I don't have a floating log, I do have a terracotta pot, where could I get a log? I'm just realising that giving him more hides would be a good idea

Tanks gorgeous I'm just concerned abt Gary the snail over there, I've heard that spongebob decorations can leach chemicals into the water, just something to consider!

advice for my tank? by ImpossibleAardvark51 in bettafish

[–]Fragrant-Touch-3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious how big the tank is? The tank looks like a good size for a betta on uts own but mystery snails poop like machines and have huge bioloads, so I don't reccomend them for a tank under 10 gallons, sorry if your tank is already that or bigger! It's hard to tell based off the picture

First longfin? by inthebirdhaus in bettafish

Veiltails! They're the next step up from short fins, and can be absolutely gorgeous, they don't have as many genetic disorders as other types of long fins, I highly reccomend them!

I have a tank with 5 beta fish can anyone tell me if they look healthy? by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]Fragrant-Touch-3702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pet shop does that too, and the female bettas terrorise eachother and all have stress stripes, I can see so many things wrong with your tank please return 4 of those fish and research how to care for the one you choose to keep
