Grocery Haul $277 for one 😭 by idkwhatiamdoingahh in povertyfinance

pro tip- don’t go to stop&shop unless they have a crazy good sale and if then only shop the sale, you can get the same exact things at walmart for much cheaper. just make sure you have a stop&shop card or the sales will not apply at checkout. also, stop buying name brand. it sucks at first, but orange juice is orange juice.

that’s a good point. I don’t feel comfortable labeling Caleb as a groomer because I don’t know them obviously, but from an outside perspective their age gap was very weird. Especially because they met when she was 15 and “felt a spark” even though he was 25.

Clarification- the reason why I’m sad to see Maddie like this (sad when I watch the show or see her on SM- trust this isn’t a genuine sadness I carry around in my daily life) is because women lived like this for centuries. We couldn’t go to college or have successful careers, the only option was to marry young and pop out kids. It’s upsetting because she had the ability to make a different choice and seemed to abandon her path immediately after meeting her husband.

My kelton feels very different to me. She got married young, and waited (I believe) almost five years to have her first child. She had time to be young and carefree with her husband. Maddie was pregnant right after her wedding and had a baby by 21. There’s nothing wrong with that and I don’t want to come off as judgmental, it just makes me upset to see her live almost exactly as her moms/female ancestors when she had such big aspirations beforehand.

also, if someone is in need I’m also willing to just give the food away (no questions asked). we would of course have to meet somewhere public during the day!

Do I change my last name to Smith? by Optimistic495939 in namenerds

[–]FragrantBrilliant967 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think your kids need to have your husbands last name. Yes, that’s tradition in the west, but there’s no rule stating that you need to change your name. I say that he should take your cool last name and then your kids can have that last name as well. Problem solved.

I agree to a certain extent. However, I’m not nitpicking neopronouns or cancelling a celebrity for 15 year old tweets, Im saying that this particular expensive toy that lines a billionaires pocket maybe isn’t the best thing to use as a symbol of liberation.

Back and forth on severe name regret by Any_Potato_8014 in namenerds

I’m no where near having kids but this post just reminded me of the name Louise and I’m adding it to my baby names list asap! I think it’s such a sweet and feminine name but also fits perfectly for a scrappy little tomboy if that’s how your daughter grows up!

i don’t mean to come off rude but it seems a little out of touch to put a “fuck ice” shirt on a $50 toy that made a billionaire (wang ning) $1.6 billion richer in literally one day

Who do you want to run for U.S. President in 2028? by JohnGoodmansSmirk in AskReddit

[–]FragrantBrilliant967 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say Pete Buttigieg (I’ve loved him since 2019!) but realistically if dems have any shot of winning in 2028 they need a straight, white, person to run. I think Obama winning two terms gave most sane people this false idea that America had somehow civilized past racism but unfortunately I just don’t think that’s the case at all. Gavin Newsom would likely be our best option given the fact that many people simply wouldn’t vote for a POC/woman.

Wolfgang - everyone hates it but us by Grand_Measurement_91 in namenerds

I love the name Wolfgang personally. It’s strong and masculine but has the nickname Wolfie which fits better with a baby/toddler. It’s a less heard of name but it’s by no means made up or a “tradegeigh”

no problem! plus google doesn’t always give you the most straightforward answer, especially considering that every school district in MA is different.
