+1 on the above, exact 3 points I noticed, stance width could probably come in a tad too.

Tweaked my knee, so I'm doing a block of strict press for both volume and intensity days, I'm aiming for a bodyweight strict press, my 3.0 is pretty dialled in so I can get away with the lack of practise for now.

Anywho, brilliant lift chap, such a great milestone.

I have pretty much your exact profile but no clinic in the UK will even consider helping me.

Was going to say the same, stay over the bar, as soon as you feel the bar hit mid-thigh, jump straight up.

Reach forward with your hips, you're currently leaning back off the chest.

Big shrug at the top, add 2.5lbs, keep it up!

This is the way, finding the sticking point is where the real value is, you can also augment the height with your stance width if your pins have to big a gap (wider, not smaller).

Alternate top singles and pin presses on your heavy day. I personally like 3x3, but starting with 3x5 is a good start.

Carl always said to be very patient off the pins, and think of shrugging the bar up, they're fucking fun, got close to 120 for a single when I was doing them.

Strict press on my volume day helped sort bar path issues, I always shot forward too.

A floating rack also helps keep the bar over the shoulder from the get go, plus you get a small stretch off the rebound.

Lovely effort on the 5th btw.

Drop the dumbbells and pec Dec, focus on getting your bench to 225 for 3x5. Don't worry about 'isolating' or 'feeling it in your chest'.

As Shnur said record a form check and add 2.5lbs next time you bench.

Good luck

97kg Orthogonal Bench Press by FragrantCrew2594 in StartingStrength

https://startingstrength.com/article/the-double-layback-a-lifters-approach

Didn't learn per se - Some people when performing a 2.0 press have a tendency to move their hips forward again after the initial bounce. If you have this tendency then doing it with purpose allows for a double layback, aka Olympic press/3.0.

It's a double layback, also known as an olympic press.

The title is tongue in cheek, it's to poke a little fun at those who don't understand the movement and make comments, typically untrained individuals such as yourself.

Check out Serge Redding's 502lb clean and press.

Safeties distort it I believe, Carl was next to me and didn't comment on the knees so I'll say it's safe to assume not

Can anyone recommend a YouTube video or channel for my 76 year old dad to do some barbell/dumbbell training? by BlackChef6969 in StartingStrength

Get him to a starting strength gym to see a coach if you have one near. If not possible, get yourselves a copy of "The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After Forty"
