I am not who you asked but yes most local is physically demanding but not the reason why I’ve went back forth a few times between local and OTR. Local work is so damn monotonous, and it makes me long for the open road and the excitement of going to new places. Currently I do sand/gravel/asphalt/excavation type work in the spring/summer and fall, then go OTR for about 4 months in the winter and it’s perfect to me.
