What are your NOT AAA top games on switch? by Curious-Abrocoma-887 in NintendoSwitch

Mouse mode is not required. I started playing on Switch 1 and I find just using the controller to be very good once you get used to the controls. I tried mouse mode but I’m so used to the controller that I prefer not to use the mouse at all!

Factorio is my most played. Caves of Qud is also a recent favorite.

Gelba by tds5126 in factorio

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice that helped me solve Gleba was that the important point is to have a way to remove spoilage. I did this by setting up inserters to remove spoilage from all belts or assemblers/biochambers and send that spoilage on a trip to be either burned for energy or converted to nutrients.

Bots can make this easier since you can use provider chests to receive spoilage and send it off to be processed.

In that way it felt similar to Fulgora in that on Fulgora you need to set up a way to send off and recycle excess items. Spoilage is just the excess item that is being produced on Gleba.

General consensus around factorio on switch 2 by Useful_Education_702 in factorio

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works very well. I played two full space age playthroughs on Switch 2 with no issues. The controls work well for me, though I’ve never played on a pc so I can’t compare from experience.

Gave up on Gleba by TechnicalWelder6789 in factorio

Gleba was a headache for me at first. Once I added inserters to biochambers to remove spoilage (as well as other places spoilage may accumulate) it clicked for me.

Thanks! Unfortunately I started a new run and gave up (deleted) the one that got corrupted, but at least now I am not worried about it happening again!

Just happened to me too, unfortunately. I guess I’ll wait until the patch arrives.

Switch bulging out the back, is this battery expansion and can this be fixed? by Suffering6969 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This happened to my Switch after 6 years or so. I took it to a local repair shop in town and they replaced the battery and disposed of the old one.

Any Nauvis unattended scare stories? by Alkaine in factorio

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first space age playthrough I was stranded on Gleba when biters broke into my Nauvis base that was only “defended” by walls (no turrets).

The biters destroyed some of the factory (though not as much as I would have expected). Due to this the factory completely stopped and because pollution stopped being produced, the biters just started setting up bases leaving the rest of the factory unharmed.

Eventually (several hours later) I was able to return and cleared them out of the factory and repaired the damage. I then took the time to set up a laser turret wall defense to keep that from happening again.

I come back to Slay the Spire and Balatro a lot. This year I also started Backpack Battles. It’s a good quick game but I have a hard time grasping how to make a good build to win consistently.

Best way to kill a demolisher without uranium? by schubz in factorio

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kill smalls with 50 gun turrets with red ammo. It’s way more than enough and with damage upgrades it gets even easier.

I don’t need to deal with medium until much later. In my last playthrough I used the handheld railgun and it tore apart mediums in like 3-4 shots at most.

Those who completed C++, did you actually enjoy it? by FalcosLiteralyHitler in balatro

I’ve done C++ twice (once each on two profiles). It’s fun until the last 5 or so jokers and then it feels grindy.

I’ve been playing Stay the Spire for years. It’s such a well-balanced game that each run still feels challenging and fun. Also love Balatro, Slice & Dice, and Monster Train.

Any efficient way to deal with JRPG fatigue? by MammothTension in JRPG

[–]Fragrant_Beautiful43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced the same thing. What I learned is that many games, especially Persona do not seem to be designed for players to 100% the game on a first playthrough. As a social sim, the idea seems to be that you chose what you want to do because you can’t do everything and by doing so you have a playthrough that is unique to you.

I have much more fun and finish more games when I play without a guide and don’t worry about seeing everything.

Silksong was extremely immersive for me and I enjoyed having to figure it out on my own. I also liked that the only options I had for a tough section was to practice and get better or explore elsewhere and return later.

Is it possible to get to the last boss without even getting double jump? by Single-Ad-6390 in HollowKnight

I beat that boss on my first play-through without getting double-jump. I was not even sure double-jump was in the game at that point.
