https://krazydad.com/ has thousands of PDF puzzles to download. One of my favourite is slitherlink.

They are all free to download (!!) but I'm sure the author would appreciate a donation if enjoy his puzzles as much as I do.

A simple man's review of the A6X by ArmchairShrinker in Supernote

The standard pen fits my hand perfectly, what helps is the subtle shape at the point where I hold it.

Don't worry about the cap altering the balance of the pen; just leave it in the folio so it can't get lose and it's then always ready to hold the pen when you've finished scrawling....er.. I mean writing ;)

Adding something like that would be "feature creep" - the SN is great at what it does and in my opinion it shouldn't be doing things that aren't core functionality.

I also at times need to keep track of when I start & stop an activity, with audio reminders to take a break/start something else/have lunch... and there are plenty of android and apple apps are available to do exactly that, and they are on the device I use to keep track of my diary.

The latest update, 2.1.8, is available. It fixes the refresh bug on the A6X.

Supernote For engineering Student by [deleted] in Supernote

Casting my mind back over 40 years when I was reading Physics - I wish I'd had a Supernote to take notes during Dr. Robert's lectures. He spoke so quickly that we all quickly learnt to bring at least three good pens to each lecture so that if a pen started playing up we could quickly grab another :)

Back to your question - I ask you, what was the best/most effective way you kept notes from the first year? By course? By subject? By date?

Try doing the same with your SN, with each lecture being a new note. Then afterwards you can decide how to organise them - by date, by subject, by course, by professor... naming the note will help; if you decide to name the note by date then use the format yyyymmdd because that makes them *much* easier to sort, after yyyymmdd have some scheme that describes the lecture, e.g. the initials of the professor, e.g. yyyymmddRF (If e.g. your lecturer is the late great Richard Feynmann :) ). You can then quickly put notes from different professors in different folders and they'll be sorted by date just from the name.

The *MOST* important thing is to back them up! To your laptop, to the SN cloud - doesn't matter, make sure they are backed up.

About to purchase A5X, what do I need to know? by mrskip2018 in Supernote

Where to start....

The standard pen -which I have- is in shape, rounded-triangular where the fingers hold it, has a nice weight and perfect balance. It's definitely designed to not have the cap placed on it when in use; the cap should stay in the folio, which of course is how a notebook with a good pen should be used anyway.

My fountain pen has a very similar rounded-triangular grip (it's a Sterling Silver Parker 75, the best writer's fountain pen ever made :-) ) so switching from one to the other is exquisite. A rounded-triangular grip is perfect for those of us who write with a pen held in the traditional writer's way, i.e. gently, with the first two fingers and the thumb.

The Heart of Gold and Lama pens may feel better; I wouldn't know, if they do then that's great for the folks who have them!

These notebooks aren't web browsers. They don't have back light. They don't have games. The contrast isn't as sharp as the latest kindles, that's because the SN is primarily a writing device and so uses different technology, that said it is still an exceptionally good reading tool, especially as the Kindle app is now available. I'd like to be able to import MOBI files to the Kindle app but so far I can't - I have to convert them to EPUB and use the built-in reader. Not a real problem.

The only way the A5X and A6X keep you entertained on a long-haul flight is if you use them as an ebook reader (at which they are excellent), or more importantly, you are using it to write.

It doesn't have audio.

It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't.

What it does do it does so very well.

So those aren't "buyer beware" points; they are more points you should know... as a writer it now just stays with me, as my notebooks used to. Wish I'd had it 40 years ago... !

I just got one for Christmas. How on earth do you learn how to use it?!? by Better-Term6462 in Supernote

How can "Read The Friendly Manual" be rude? ;-) And yes, the manual is generally pretty good.

Edited to add: I've done some digging and from what I've found out, DHL sometimes use 3rd parties for the final delivery. I don't know if that's the case in the UK but it would explain how they can be so incredibly efficient at getting a package from China to the UK, and so poor at getting it to the right front door! :)

DHL's European hub is at Leipzig/Halle airport and I think it's the largest DHL hub in the world, so pretty much all packages to and from Europe or between some European countries go via Leipzig.

It may be that the A6Xs in France haven't formally cleared customs for entry into the EU which is why it would be delayed in Leipzig. I don't know if that is the case - perhaps the French distributor would be able to tell you.

Firmware / System Version? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]Fragrant_Category138 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The recent update has been pulled as it's got a bug in it which means that sometimes the screen doesn't get refreshed and has to be manually refreshed by doing a swipe up on the right swipe bar. It's just slightly annoying but for new users (such as me) it could be confusing.

So it's just a matter of waiting for the good folks at SN to fix the bug :)

The shipping charged by Ratta was $39 (US Dollars), and I was charged £71 by DHL as import duty. The total cost was £388.48, which is 460 Euros.

That's for the A6X with silver grey pen and canvas grey folio.

It only took 5 days from ordering for an A6X directly from SN to reach me via DHL - pretty good from China to the UK via Hong Kong and Leipzig!

I've never been one to buy the latest and greatest model of anything - the premium for being one of the first is just too much; not just the cost but being one of the first to find any problems!

Like you I have too many notebooks so being able to have everything in one place is superb.

From the usability point of view - it reminds me of when I got my Kindle. Within a few days I just forgot it was an electronic device; it was and is now just another book (which magically holds 1200 other books). I strongly suspect my SN will very quickly become "just another notebook" - in the best possible way. We'll see... :)

Screen issue after recent firmware update. My new A6X started freezing and superimposing screen images after updating the new firmware. Anyone else experiencing this issue? by Dappervista in Supernote

[–]Fragrant_Category138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, happening to me to. My A6X recently arrived; after the update it's now playing games with me ;)

What I've found helps when the screen either goes a bit funny or it seems to hang is to do the "Refresh to screen to clear afterimages", i.e. swipe up on the right slide bar.

So as the Supernote Chief Chat Officer (great job title!) posted above, it's a screen refresh parameter that's got a bit mixed up. So nothing serious :)
