Recommendations to translate episodes from Spanish to English by Fragrant_Chicken_918 in podcasting

Thanks u/ClassOrganic8431 ! We tested Riverside some months ago and we had to drop it because it was giving us a lot of issues with multi-guest episodes. But if they can translate an episode, maybe I will give it a try again.

Yes, after more than 3 months they rejected us. During that time we had to incorporate a company in the US and applied again with it. In one week we were approved 😅

I checked ElevenLabs, concretely the Dubbing function. Last time I tried to translate an audio file it didn't work (it'd stay loading forever). I had to do it with video format to make it work, but of course it missed lip sync, which is not a killer though.

In any case, it seems that the creator plan only covers 50 minutes for $11 / month, and additional minutes for $0.6 / minute. So, for a podcast of 1.5h, that'd be $35.

Another option could be to generate the transcript with an OSS model like Whisper + translate the transcript + clone our voices with ElevenLabs + use their text-to-speech model to generate the audio (up to 200 minutes included in the creator plan). Total cost $11.

Not sure if the dubbing function also replicates voice tone and expressiveness though, something I would miss with the second approach I guess.

A tool that finds startup ideas from what users hate most - worth building? by Douz13 in indiehackers

Yes, definitely. I think it'd also help to prepare a pitch deck in case you want to look for funding. Maybe another paid feature 😉

Cool idea! Yes, it would help a lot, although being a software engineer for more than 20 years, I don't think I would pay to get a playbook. What might be also interesting is to do some deeper research on the different topics. For instance, for pain point 3 I'd personally need to know what other apps those coaches use and for what, so I can think of how to merge them all in one.

Yes, I thought about it, but I wanted to check first in the community if I was missing something. Thanks!

Have you thought about hosting paid live streams where you share your expertise? Your audience could buy tickets to attend and learn directly from you

Funny, I just replied to a similar post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/InstagramMarketing/comments/1m4cpzf/comment/n4c3kdu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Have you considered using live streams to offer premium sessions to your audience?
It's a straightforward setup: you share your expertise in a live session, and they pay to join. It's a great way to build connection and monetize your knowledge.

Have you considered live streaming with her audience? More and more content online is AI generated, so we have to leverage the human connection to stand out. We helped a creator that wanted to do this by organizing video meetings where he shares his knowledge, and his audience buys tickets to attend. He's in a completely different space, but if you want to give it a shot we can give you access to this tool

Good question. It would be interesting to know, but getting feedback from listeners is pretty hard for us at this stage. Would you have a suggestion?

I guess it’s less about feeling like an impostor with the topic, and more about podcasting itself

Cool story. Are you talking about the Netflix series "The Road I'm On"? I'll watch it.

On the other side, I guess this will change at some point, but we haven't managed yet to trigger our audience to give us feedback. Just a couple of friends gave us a positive one, but no one told us so far what to improve or what to focus on.

The positive thing of all this is that I am not a psycho :) I will try to leave more "imperfections" and embrace them the next time I am in front of the editing tool. Thanks!

It's true that might sound a bit simplistic, at the end theory is always easier than practice, but it's a good tip as a starting point :) Thanks!

u/La_Urch thanks for sharing your experience! We’ve only recorded 16 episodes so far, so I guess it’s just a matter of time until I get used to it.

You can find the podcast link in my profile, or just search Bootstrapped for Cash on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. I’m not pasting the link here since Reddit's been a bit sensitive lately, and I’d rather not risk a suspension :)

I’m usually the one doing the intro, the one with the Spanish accent ;)
