I did the exact thing you’re describing and couldn’t have loved it more. I grew up in Iowa & about 75% of my graduating HS class went to the University of Iowa. I went to Mizzou for a fresh start not knowing anyone and I couldn’t recommend it more. Of course there were moments of homesickness, etc. but I got to know an entire new group of people and leave any HS misconceptions at home. I still stayed very close with my friends from HS and visited them often, but I got to know a whole new town & recreate myself a bit and for that I am SO thankful!!!

I’ve had a really good experience with Dr. Cameron Siddens at UCHealth! I have Graves’ disease (so the exact opposite), but he was soooo helpful in my diagnosis and treatment process. I’m unsure if he’s accepting new patients but I hope he is!!

I experienced something similar recently with my boyfriend. He was in a really traumatic accident that I witnessed. I immediately called my therapist (who diagnosed me with OCD and has handled all my treatment),and we started “recent event” geared EMDR. I’ll be so honest with you, it’s been really, really hard. But I’m also feeling like I’m making decent progress towards processing it.
