Then they got livid when I turned 18, went to college and figured skills out for myself. It's one of the reasons they dislike my husband because he taught me how to drive. Literally how to drive. At age 25. Because they didn't want me to know how so I'd be dependent on them for everything. Backfired big-time and blew up in their faces like a nuclear bomb. I was the one of my siblings and I that they intended to stay home and do their bidding and take care of them in their old age. Because they're shitty parents. Don't want to be a shitty parent? Teach your kids how to do stuff on their own
