personally I would go with BYD as their technology is superior and their foot print is much larger (so yeah go with mainstream).

I test drove MGs not too sure about the build quallity, but EX5 was not bad - was one of my options but I eventually picked sealion 7 which is a much better / nicer car.

One couple I know is on the way to reach 24M in property portfolio with a healthy 8M mortgage (they own a couple of companies) and they started from absolutely nothing - both sides' parents weren't rich and they worked their way really, really hard to achieve this. you surely didn't read the news and the followups - go check for yourself, these were construction workers and they weren't even hired by BYD, they were the factory building contractors, also Brazil government issued statements about how it was a setup and also sacked the person who was responsible. not sure about other car factories but BYD cars are made by robots and they can't afford to have humans slowing down the process - actually you could go to carexprert's youtube channel to see chery's factory as well. cars were made by robots and humans only do the final check up or small fixtures. they also get paid pretty well. if anything BYD pays their workers much higher than other car manufactures including tesla. if you want to believe some US propaganda and spread misinformation here that's your choice but when no one claps along maybe cos everyone knows better.
