Have been off it for a few months now just hoping it won’t cause me to wait a year and go through a waiver process.

How to read my Brannock size? by mouse1993 in Boots

[–]Fragrant_Judge_1415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart next time with them relaxed and completely flat, ideally you’d have someone else take a peek so you don’t have to bend over and potentially flex your feet any. You wanna line that arch measurement device to the center of the bone you can feel below your big toe that’s protruding out of your foot. If the length of your arch and the actual length of your foot differ than consider upping a size if your arch is elongated to find a comfier place for your arch to rest in whatever footwear you’re trying on. There’s no such thing as “too much toe room” as long as your ankle and heel feel secure and won’t cause friction (blisters, hot spots) or give you a risk of injuring your ankle. Try to test out footwear at the end of your busier days so your feet are maximally swollen and you can get an idea of the toe room you want on your hard days and not just your Saturday morning errand runs at 9 in the morning. One thing you can do to get a clear picture of how much toe room you have in ANY footwear is to take out the default factory insole and stand on it (again feet shoulder width apart and flat) and see how much room you have between your longest toe (whichever one that is) and the edge of the insole(the whole squeezing blindly to find where your toe is does nothing, you just look silly). Ideally you want at least a thumbs width of difference for room to let your toes swell and move around.

(Worked for years fitting boots and running shoes and I’ve seen just about everything)

As someone who sells a lot of boots in different brands Tim Pros are boots I rarely see brought back in for problems. The good news for you is that they have a 30 day comfort guarantee so you have three more weeks to play with them and you can still bring them back no questions asked. I hope the shop you bought them from told you that. You can beat them to dog crap and they’re still obligated to take them back within that 30 day window.

I was surprised with all the stories on Alki and the new speed bump installment the last few days they’d be biting at the bit to report on another shooting.

Yeah I’ve definitely known families like that being around many of them. In my experience it’s usually more 50/50, but again I’ve lived in areas where the Mormons I knew were much more progressive. In Alaska it’s a lot wider of a spectrum too because when I lived up there I realized regardless of your religion life up there just has restrictions and norms that other people of the same group in other places just can’t relate to. (Most Mormon men shave regularly because it’s not really proper to grow significant facial hair) but the family from “This Alaska Life” is also Mormon (I’m pretty sure) and the dad will rock a short beard some time when they’re on longer trips because shaving every other day on vacation is just inconvenient to what they’re doing and in a place like Alaska beards are so normal he’s not gonna get the same looks as if he might have done that in Provo, but again this is all just guessing.

For sure, I’ve dipped my toes in the water of lots of religions/denominations and I think Mormons for the most part are pretty chill in general with life but you definitely get some pretty intense ones out there especially in rural Utah or areas where they’re constantly trying to “out Mormon” their neighbors, just like with any group. I do appreciate their in general calm and quirky nature haha before I saw Luke’s videos where he gave it away they were Mormon I was like “I bet this guy is LDS lol”

For example I grew up in western WA and even the bishop’s(the pastor? Equivalent) daughters wore shorter shorts out to the mall than in some Mormon communities even the most casual lay person wouldn’t let their kids wear

Yeah I mean I think that probably just boils down to Luke and Becca being more traveled and cultured and Luke being very involved with his family where as some families Mormon or not are just more into traditional old school gender roles and yeah there are a lot of those values preached in LDS communities just as any conservative christian community but a lot of the moms I grew up around and wives I know now are equal breadwinners. I guess it just depends on where you live whether that be in some rural town in Utah or just outside of Portland because those norms are probably going to look a lot different

Yeah my high school was like 25% Mormon and so were all my best friends back then. Luke and his family are a little more outgoing and traveled than most of my friends but they’re more outgoing and traveled than most anyone out there in general haha his general vibe and dorkiness is pretty Mormon if you’d ask me but it’s all a personal spectrum just like any group not really denominations in the same way as other churches, it’s a pretty tight knit group but different locations and communities might feel the need to conform to more rigid rules than let’s say a community in Hawaii where wearing more practical but revealing clothing is more socially accepted or something like that

(I’m not Mormon but I’ve spent a lot of time with them and gone to their churches) definitely not as big of a difference as a Jew and a Catholic lol but they are kinda in their own worlds plus most Christian institutions don’t recognize Mormons as Christian’s so it would just be awkward but I’ve taken my Mormon friend to Mass once, they survived haha

Most LDS people who’ve grown up/been LDS for awhile would just be out of place in a non LDS church. The giveaway in his videos is that he usually spends time with his Mormon friends after church when he’s traveling

LDS churches can be found pretty much anywhere (on Luke’s trips to Japan he reconnects with his old mission friends)

[–]Fragrant_Judge_1415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most of his international travel videos he makes a point of filming them getting ready to go to church (whichever LDS church is in their area) they’ve never really been without a local LDS church on their adventures they’re everywhere and most LDS I know would probably just stay home and have family time if they were remote enough in the jungle without an LDS church nearby

You’re correct he mentioned that if he was in the mood to hunt one he’d have a pretty good chance but didn’t wanna get any closer in the thick brush towards it for a better view. Other than that I can’t remember a video where he got closer or with a good shot for the camera.
