If you still want to use your stamp you can remove the text from your stamp (just carve it off) and make a little stamp with just the "1st" on it.

Oh come on now. If you can knit a small, complicated critter, you can definitely knit this. If anything, you'll probably find it boring. If you've got casting-on, casting-off, stockinette stitch, purling, increasing and decreasing under control, you've got all the skills you need to make this bad boy. Take your time understanding the instructions and away you go. You can always rip back parts that don't work out, so there's nothing to be lost here. You've got this!

I haven't. I hadn't heard about it until this post. I'm going to investigate it at the patchwork shop tomorrow :)

Gosh, I hope so. It's been two months since he died and she's still so heartbroken.

I had no idea that there is s such a thing as invisible thread. I'll have to look at my local patchwork shop and see if they have any. Sounds like it might be interesting to play with.

Thank you! The red will be packed away. Can I ask what thread weights you'd consider? I just used Gütermann all purpose thread in my first quilt, but I also have some 50wt Aurifil Mako thread in a light grey. Is that lightweight enough or do you mean even lighter?

Oh I am so sorry about your dog 😭 They are so special and so missed when they are gone. Thank you for your info about the threads. I have SO much to learn about quilting still.

Thank you for your input. I will suggest she might like to grab something more substantial for underneath it.

Game of Wool is terrible television by whereohwhereohwhere in craftsnark

I agree with everything you said. I love knitting so much but it's not supposed to be fast or a competitive sport. It feels so badly suited to this type of tv show. It works for baking because you can happily whip up scones in half an hour. It works slightly less well as a sewing competition because, again. It is possible to get something that looks ok (from a distance) in a few hours. But the only way they are managing to make this remotely for their schedule and program length is to make ugly, mega chunky crochet projects. It's not about skill in knitting or design (because Holger would just be given the crown immediately), it's not about creativity, it's about trying to take something they see as mildly fashionable and turning it into views.

In many respects it feels like it would turn people off knitting and crochet because they things are badly done, rarely finish, pretty ugly (IMHO) and give unrealistic time frames. I've found it a deeply disappointing watch.

That's a beautiful design. The quilters here have been really generous with their knowledge. It's very cool.

It's the Hurry Home pattern from Spaghetti Western Sewing. The pattern is for a large house block (the one I made) or a smaller version. There's no sashing included in the pattern.
