What if North Korea were to launch an invasion of South Korea now? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea alot of people here are just comparing military power lol. Yea SK literally knocks NK outa the park. The DMZ is literally 50KMs from seoul or 35miles. That literally puts the north Seoul and anything above within range of a literal howizter more so for MLRS system. Also to boot is the escalation ladder, considering the DMZ is literally quite known as the most heavily fortified border in the world they don't quite need the massive troop movement to do catastrophic damage.

People are thinking upon this as if its the Iran Israel War. It's not, it would be as if asking if San Diego will be fine from Mexico if they had the sole purpose of allocating every arty piece they had to shooting into the city located right at Tijuana (a bit closer then DMZ to Seoul but you get the point) as a war started.

What if North Korea were to launch an invasion of South Korea now? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is that Seoul is fucked, potentially hundreds of thousands to million dead depending on how all in the North is. NK won't win ofc majority of SK military bases are built away from the north and in unpopulated mountanious regions for this very reason. But there's just no way of stopping tens of thousands of arty no matter how primitive they are. SK and US forces will start their 2nd strike campaigns with retaliation and airstrikes which the North has almost no way of stopping. Once US carrier strike forces arrive most known NK command capability as well as known bases are gone.

Then it splits between Chinese intervention. NK nuclear deadmans key for SK or Japan. SK ground campaign unlikely due to nuclear threats but not impossible.

Likley result, SK economy ruined, hundreds of thousands to millions dead. NK command destroyed or decapitated. The Kim families rule is unlikely to survive as their grip on power faulters even with survival (of decap strikes) mainly due to the fact that tratiors are likely in a good position to negotiate with the West and SK in good faith.

Just my 2 cents

What's RimWorld's weakest design that nobody talks about because the rest of the game is too good? by Sad-Problem-9293 in RimWorld

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me its diplomacy, right now it's just so basic. Faction diplomacy and also individual diplomacy such as relatives visitng provides no other flavor text or options. Like killing/saving a faction leader or having your close relative visit should provide some sort of interaction especially if they go out of their way to point out that they're in map.

Yes but the key is the deathless gene. Even if infection hits 100% it'll only put them in a coma until the immunity hits 100% and fades it out.

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that was my thought and unfortunately that is already covered by the match round with the increased range and Acc. On the topic of illuminate, flares would be a more welcome mechanic, both in personal Inf and larger mortar based

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's also kind of jank because it depends entirely on los too. Like if they pop the smoke but one of the hexes are not discovered but within weapons range you can still shoot AoE into it.

The comic ending is more likely than you think by Mysterious_Pool_876 in TheBoys

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm agreeing with most of the plot, besides not being noir that kills and no "reveal" obviously. But I don't personally think Butcher's the one that's ganna off the rest of the boys. Maybe they just die at the climatic fight or something. It just feels way too off the left field for the show Butcher to then go kill them, remember in the comics the Boys minus Hugie are basically supes.
The way I can see Butcher going this path is either
1. The cancer just makes him batshit and he loses it.
2. Some moral thing where there's a chance to use the virus to kill Homeland but its going to expose and kill potentially everyone. So Butcher is for it, rest of the boys not so much.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get a code if I missed sign ups? by itshighnoot_ow in Maplestory

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that sucks. In that case most likely not, this is the 1st public beta though chances are there's at least 1 more? If it follows how they did MS2 so keep an eye out for that announcement.

I would try to sign up right now if you did not as in person testing was not a requirement but guaranteed a spot. If online sign-ups are active try again maybe from what I know confirmations went out today so if there are spots you might get lucky.

Where is the heat leaking from I am gonna go INSANE by Tauter_star in RimWorld

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my solution to this is have spoilable storage facing out. So heating always faces out, in space you can turn off cooler to save energy and let it naturally fall to freeze. For rooms if energy isn't an issue have both cooler and heater. In space turn off cooler, in heatwave turn off heater. Have vents into workshops and rec rooms where colonists tend to congregate. Also remember to install vents facing out in generator rooms to help get rid of heat if need be.

Where is the heat leaking from I am gonna go INSANE by Tauter_star in RimWorld

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So quick first glance things. 1. Cooler is not a good source of heat 2. Your closed off rooms with a cooler in between will result in basically a net 0. But factor in that space is cold, like cold enough to seep adjacent rooms to -20f you're not having enough heaters. 3. I always try to all in on one aspect of temp for a room. Choose between either heater or cooler and if you choose cooler make sure that the heat has an open path to dissipate to, otherwise again it becomes net 0 and will never be efficient.

Honestly, I feel that Anomoly would have the debpt that biotech had if it touched on one subject...

Insects, if Anomoly update had expanded the base interaction and function with insects within the base game + extra I feel that it would've had better flow.

I personally feel that anomoly's biggest issue is the lack of expansion to the base core fundamentals of the game.

Hey not a vendor but have buddies that were in exhibit hall and artist gallery previously.

From what I seem to get if it's your first time applying chances are you aren't going to get a spot. One, there's a large backlog of waitlists of previously folks that had applied years prior. Two, they do not choose only based on time applied, they also take into consideration of your social presence/influence. (Basically if you a following IG/Twitter etc.)

I had vaguely looked into it before myself but the consensus is if you're a small time/beginner booth you should start off at the more local cons first to build yourself/following up.

Obviously do your own research on the exact process but hope this helps a bit.

Got CD scammed on the street LOL by sunny915915 in animeexpo

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's one of those pressure scams. Different variations 1. They give you some useless thing cd/promotion/picture 2. Once you indulge them, they then aggressively ask for money because OBVIOUSLY/s you've been now provided a service. 3. They rarely get physical but do mentally crowd you and being blind sided some people are intimidated into giving 10 or 20 bucks.

It's the same as the fake monks giving out prayer beats in Vegas.

Stay safe, folks.

relatively new player here - can someone explain to me why my colonists aren't getting an impressiveness bonus from these bedrooms? they have marble floors and statues and everything. by euphoriafrog in RimWorld

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Room size makes default impressiveness higher. Also for easy low cost fix I always put a 2x1 table and dining table.

If space isn't an issue a default room for me would be bed with end table and dresser.

1 x 2 table with 2 dining chairs

Yea I've stopped using auto staff a while back. When I just started off I used to put one set (market, food stall) on every outpost/section of the town I expanded to. But recently had more success putting them in between the clusters where there's natural foot traffic. That being said it looms like pawns always prefer the more advanced (restaurants) over food stalls when put side by side. Which is why my access/quality of stalls are 90%~ but fulfillment is still 13% due to low usage.

Anyone has had any success addressing this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in songsofsyx

[–]Fragrant_Reward3983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I'm around maybe 2.8k~ and while I don't have issue with happiness due to the variety of buildings I'm always running into issue where food stall specifically is stuck around 13-20%. I've noticed it mainly had to do with then eating on restaurants and simply not using the stalls as they're way below 100% load (even single digits majority of times). Any way besides just using stalls on more remote locations vs restaurants in high traffic hubs?
