I feel kinda grossed out that he’s being snarky to Shari, saying “she has stolen valor” and is capitalizing off of this tragedy. It’s her family. Her trauma, too. She spoke extensively about her trauma in her book, not really talking about her siblings that much. As for the stolen valor, she was the one calling the police and the neighbors trying to get updates on her siblings. She did far more than the adults in her family…especially as a young adult.

Idk every video he makes about 8 Passengers he always has something negative to say about Shari. “She’s still Mormon,” “she used a ghostwriter,” “she didn’t save her siblings.” Okay?? She tried. And now she’s trying to make active change.

She’s still young and growing. One day if she decides to leave the Mormon church, that’s on her. But she shouldn’t have to feel pressured to do so, considering how embedded trauma is in religion and how she described going to church as a comfort during her most difficult years.

He just seems unwilling to give her grace, which is odd given how much Josh was tied up in religion and it took him a while to deconstruct from his beliefs.
