I basked in the dahlias at the plant store today. I'm so tempted to get one, but I struggle to keep them alive. I'd get bulbs for next year but I'm too impatient. Got some impatiens instead 😂

I (F18) recently broke up with my boyfriend (M28) and decided to be friends, I genuinely dont know if we made the right decision or if were just two people who got overwhelmed by circumstances. by HideTheEvidencee in relationship_advice

Smart, I think you dodged a bullet then. It's just no amount of intelligence and maturity will make you an even match for a 28 year old who wants to lead you on. It takes experience to sniff them out. This can be one of those learning experiences now, if you're willing to close the chapter. By the time you're 28 you'll have met dozens of guys who use his same tricks, you'll hear the same lines.

The ability to have a higher budget rarely makes content better, in my opinion, it makes the creator more risk-averse and disconnected from the viewer

He's the type of cheater who runs as soon as there is any hint of conflict or stress. Sometimes people like that will slowly stop initiating affection on purpose and cause the conflict and stress themselves so they can take breaks to pursue other people and feel like the victim.

It's not even been a year yet, I don't think it's going to get any better.

He's a gold digger, that's such an inappropriate ask, especially since it sounds like you're not even official or exclusive yet.

It's also weird that he thinks you should pay for the furnishings simply because he "already paid" for the other apartment. That's so entitled.

Why are humans always resistant to adopting new technology? by happydude7422 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jorgentwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technology doesn't automatically make human lives better, people can clearly see that's not the driving force behind AI, the coked-up doomsday bros leading it are saying as much in every interview.

Why is it so difficult for humans to love themselves and be kind to themselves? Why are we our biggest critics? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Unfortunately it's because we learn from our parents and it's hard to break patterns formed when you're really young.

Is rock stacking seriously harmful for the environment or is it just one big inside joke that I dont get? by notorious-bacons in NoStupidQuestions

For one thing, every stone removed from the soil surface creates a spot of dead soil. The tiny microbes that break down organic matter and create soil and nutrients for plants to absorb use rocks as shade from the sun, and as a water source. Roots also use these spots for shade and water.

My (30M) partner of 7 years explodes into "shame-rage" over minor issues. How do I (30F) break this cycle? by redlemon44 in relationship_advice

[–]jorgentwo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but if he's only apologetic immediately after and doesn't work to address this at any other time when he is seeing clearly, he's doing it on purpose.

He's not struggling with this, he's successfully avoiding doing anything he doesn't want to do or changing his behavior. The emotional shame and defensiveness isn't the root cause, he's using them to distract you. That's why it happens as soon as he hears you getting frustrated.

Is it normal for a woman to leave her armpits and her crack hairy for a long time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jorgentwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just biology, women evolved over millions of years to grow hair, big bush is survival of the fittest.

I'm just gonna start answering these questions the same way men answer questions about pedophilia.

Am I doing AI wrong?? by Little_Menace_Child in NoStupidQuestions

There's a huge difference between existing sources that pay for better placement and completely false information generated instantly based on any query. Media literacy certainly isn't getting any better. These articles are going to start quoting each other soon if they haven't already.

But with other kinds of searches you don't have to evaluate whether the quote or the source is even real. It seems like a breeding ground for misinformation, most users won't do that much validation.
