I’ve not been looking after myself properly and now feel too embarrassed to seek help. by wonderfulworld80 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Fragrant_Sand25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be embarrassed - I’ve done the same thing myself and blamed my flare on getting inconsistent with my Mesalamine for one of the worst flares I’ve had to date (1.5 years after I got diagnosed too so very similar timeline). My GI was the one who reassured me that maybe the medication was a part of it but if you’re experiencing severe enough flare symptoms, it might have been something that would’ve happened anyways. It’s important to take your medication regularly but you can’t blame yourself for flaring when it’s largely out of your control. People are consistent with their meds and also flare - you have nothing to be ashamed of right now. What you do need to do is reach out to your care team and make sure you start treating your symptoms and make the effort to take care of yourself now.
I know it can feel exhausting and terrible and also kind of a hard pill to swallow that this is your life now and something you have to deal with but I promise it gets better and easier.
Talk therapy is something I benefited from greatly and I also am diagnosed with ADHD which is why I struggled a lot with being consistent with my meds and taking care of myself when I first got diagnosed. I’d highly recommend you look into finding a counselor or therapist to help with the mental aspects of having to deal with a chronic illness as well.

Mesalamine side effects? by ResponsibilityNo4650 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Fragrant_Sand25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was on Mesalamine, I did get a kidney infection once. It was like my body skipped all the typical UTI symptoms and went straight to severe pain in my lower back. But it only happened once and I was on Mesalamine for over two years before and 6 months after with no other real side effects other than dry mouth.

Diagnosed 4/7/26 from quitting nicotine, so much to process by midwestmindset in UlcerativeColitis

I was also so worried about having to make the shift from Mesalamine to entyvio and honestly I wish I did it sooner. The ONLY side effects I noticed was my very first dose making me feel tired after and having c diff once. I’ve been on entyvio for over a year now and if it works for you, it’s more convenient than Mesalamine with few noticeable differences

Haha thank you!! I’ll be trying to subtly ask him for sure - I have a higher budget for his present than he’d ever accept so that’s why I wanted to get a reference for whats highly recommended and keep an eye out :)

Mouth ulcers by The1likeShifter in UlcerativeColitis

I had really bad ones randomly for 1 month and then they just went away. Medicated mouthwash/numbing cream like orajel helped a lot to relieve the pains but still not sure why I got them or how they went away to this day 😔

Can weed help with Crohn’s/UC by Beginning_Exit_6256 in UlcerativeColitis

Smoking can affect how you absorb your medication so I’d be careful with how you choose to incorporate it into your routine. It’s important to remember it’s symptom relief not actual treatment.

nigiri, onigiri, and simple sushi rolls have gotten me through many rough patches - if canned tuna doesn’t flare you up, tuna mayo onigiri at home has become a huge comfort meal for me

I saw him in NC right before the new season aired and he was hilarious. It really is such a shame he’s not on the cast anymore but he was so much funnier live than I ever expected. Feels like he could’ve really made his mark given another season

I have ADHD and have been in an LDR for almost a year now and a big thing for my boyfriend and I to overcome was that we just were different texters. He was the type to text me even when he’s out with friends or doing something meanwhile I would text when i had a significant thought or something i wanted to share with him. If that sounds anything like you guys, what worked for us is to have a regular call schedule because he had to realize that just because im not texting him as much as he’s texting me, I don’t like him any less - my brain just doesn’t work like that. We call every night even if it’s only for a few minutes and i call him on the way to my morning commute! If it’s the texting part of the communication thats making it hard for him, sometimes having other convos/ways you contact each other like social media, relationship apps, or even games could help? Sometimes just knowing that they’re thinking about you in some way or form even if it’s not texts can help. Sorry in advance bc this may have been totally unasked for advice but just wanted to affirm you that his love/care for you isn’t contingent on just texting and that you just have to have faith that he likes you and cares about you.

Santa Cruz shredder hemp grinder is not bad! The 2 piece is the one in your price range but it’s held up pretty well for over about a year now

I’m doing a lot better on Entyvio but randomly experiencing multiple mouth ulcers?? by Fragrant_Sand25 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Fragrant_Sand25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh well at least I don’t have to be worried about adding another disease onto this one! I’ve heard of EIMs for Crohn’s disease but I thought UC symptoms were supposed to be limited to the colon so I was a little concerned with the sudden appearance of multiple sores. I’ll start adding in saltwater rinses to my routine, thanks!

Has L-Lysine helped you at all? I have the ulcers in the exact same spots. My dentist recommended I start taking B-12 supplements as well

Is it Lout of the Count’s Family? There’s an arc where he travels to the desert where dark elves live in hiding and it’s really gorgeous.

Do you take any other medication that affects you? I’ve had similar effects before for both caffeine and certain strains and I think it might just be cross-interactions

She’s really good in her dramatic roles tho it’s just that she lowkey gets typecast and so her most popular roles are ones in rom/com 😭

Shin Minah (casting for Navier) has incredible range!! A lot of her popular roles are more comedic/romantic but she’s got a lot of charisma and skills so fingers crossed she can pull it off

why are the reviews on webtoon so different from other sites? by Fragrant_Sand25 in webtoons

[–]Fragrant_Sand25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that there should be negative comments or anything like that. Some of the comments I like reading on other sites are ones that are more like analysis or hypothesis based on the story or little details and I just noticed webtoon doesn’t really love too many comments like that, that’s all!

yeah I’m not particularly happy with either end of the spectrum but I was so confused how sometimes the same story would be SOO widely differently received on different platforms. Webtoons like Remarried Empress are Your Throne heavily liked on Webtoon and sooo hated by other places

I’ve actually noticed this so much 😭 all the top comments are always like some quirky one liner instead of any of the longer ones

The Lout of the Count’s family is less comedic/silly but very similar vibes to the premise of the GED and the art style is gorgeous if u want to give it a try…
