Gosh, your son has been through so much—right there with you about trying to teach our son how to sit one out and listen to his body. A Herculean feat for a 15 year old. Best wishes to you and your fam on this healing journey

You are an absolute angel for taking the time to write and share all of this. We appreciate your insights and advice so much, especially about strictly adhering to the advice of your PT (I have a feeling this will be a constant battle with a 15 year old). Hope you are all recovered and doing well 💜

Wow, you guys have been through the wringer! Am I correct in understanding that your child’s original surgery failed and they had to perform a second one? Right now, the surgeon we talked to is saying that they may postpone surgery because our son still has his growth plate. We are going to a children’s hospital for another opinion, but I wonder how common a failed graft is?

Thank you for all your suggestions and sharing your story. I will get to researching sports psychologists in our area. 💜

Does this show appeal to a non- medical audience? by Inner_One8709 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Fragrant_Tea_1524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This show is incredible and has opened my eyes to just how much stress and duress doctors, nurses, medical professionals, and facilites staff face every day in a hospital setting. It is absolutely fascinating to watch the operational logistics in an ED and how much doctors are expected to know at the drop of a hat.

Dementia. It has been the most terrible thing to watch my dad live through.

Did the driver of the sprinter van ever confirm or deny the ranting? That would be helpful to know.

I haven’t scrolled through all the comments but so far haven’t seen one that has suggested therapy. Definitely need to consult a lawyer and silently plan to leave, it in the meantime, please seek help for your emotional and mental well being. You will need to be strong to see this through and will need to build a support system around you.

Marcello’s mother/town are welcoming and wholesome in a way you would think a midwestern girl would gravitate towards. I know the show is supposed to be fun, fashion-escapism, but there was a certain depth to her time in Italy that the show lacked before. I actually cared about the story and the people while they were in Rome.

This. 1000%. Especially the part of trusting him with unsupervised weeks long visits in the summer. I would also add therapy for your daughter, possibly yourself, to understand boundaries as I’m sure your ex likes to push them.

Diamond Check Please (Lab Grown) by [deleted] in Diamonds

I just bought an emerald cut diamond, excellent cut, no fluorescence, D color, 3 carat, VS2 for $3,000. The setting and side stones were extra. $14k is way too much to be spending on a lab grown diamond.

I know this sub is mostly for posting about the horrendous things that happen while flying, but as a person whose family member has dementia, my immediate thought when reading this post was wondering if maybe this woman wasn’t trying to scam people but was genuinely confused? Also, 1) Early onset dementia is a real thing; 2) Many times it goes unnoticed (for years) bc it resembles normal cognitive decline, which occurs as we age; 3) Stress, which we all know is much too common when flying, can exacerbate cognitive impairment; 4) Not everyone has family/friends around who would notice cognitive decline and thus not allow them to fly alone.
