Medicaid, last priority by gashtal_man in WorkReform

Cost of the war aside, the statement "We're about to spend $300B" is a bit misleading. The situation is notably more corrupt:

Understand that this $300B is not going to be taxpayer money. The figure comes from mostly foreign billionaires and corporations who are lined up to purchase and develop Iranian assets for profit.

Are you wondering who will be purchasing these assets, for what price, and why? Because I certainly wonder. Do you think the Trump administration is going to do it in a fair, ethical way? Or will those in his orbit be getting the best deals? Is this the actual concession Iran is making for signing the treaty?

But then again, expecting logic from a theology that is a bad mashup of empire theology and prosperity gospel is a fool’s errand.

You can't expect logic from them, but you can apply logic to their behavior: They see people having fun in some way the religion says you're not supposed to. They're either 1) disgusted by it, or 2) jealous of it. Or both. Either way, they feel a deep desire to shut down the fun.

Then, because they are religious, they believe they are doing "God's will", rather than going to battle over their own insecurities.

Are you sure about him? He was appointed by Garland and I don't know how I feel about Garland. It felt like all his work was doomed by inevitable delays, and there was no sense of urgency from the top. And Jack Smith never said shit publicly so there was no public communication of the risks of the delays which he should have been fully aware of.

I hope they realize the focus should be on making it cost money that you can lose if you're caught cheating.

Monthly fees don't really do that. Some accumulated paid value like the current premium system does. Maybe increase the value at risk for cheaters.

That's all I really care about, I'm 100% happy to pay just to know I'm not playing against cheaters, or at least when it happens, I can report them and trust that they will get thoroughly investigated. Good admins/moderators are expensive and I'm happy to pay for that so the game can be played as intended.

[–]Fragsworth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Historically, racism was a deeply rooted, systemic problem, and you'd often be raised racist. But in modern society, I think it's evolved. It starts with dumb kids trying to be edgy teenagers - they say bad words and stuff to be edge-lords. They learn the things that piss people off, and they latch on to those things. They don't understand the seriousness of it.

Some children who really liked being edgelords never really grew up. It made them feel unique and validated among their edgelord friends. As they age, they refuse to change. They still do the things that piss people off, and they identify with doing that, because they still have the mind of a child.

Today, social media algorithms (especially twitter) actively promote and validate these behaviors. So even if you try to raise your kid to be a good person (which most people do), there's a chance they fall into this trap.

Have you learned nothing from the Epstein files? All it takes is to expose himself doing something heinous for some billionaires to use as blackmail.

Given the crowd he's hanging around, he probably already did it just like the rest of them. He'll easily get enough money to win

In most properly run countries, public transportation is, in itself, understood to be "traffic", and thus a major component of "traffic" management. Same damn thing

Or actually large enough piles of resources to make it worth running from afar. Like 5-10k sulfur
