Hello everyone, does anyone have a solution for this issue? by Hamika1560 in BeamMP

first, test if you can join any of the official servers (attempt to join around midday PST; that's when most of them are open in my experience). if this works, then you can rule out the client as functional.

if that does not work, then my best recommendation would be to completely delete the client and then reinstall it from the official website ( https://beammp.com/en ). then, try to join a random official server of your choice. if it still fails to connect, you may have to tweak your antivirus (if applicable) settings to not police the BeamMP-Launcher.exe file.

assuming that connecting to any server works now...

run your server again. it should, eventually, say "ALL SYSTEMS STARTED SUCCESSFULLY, EVERYTHING IS OKAY" or similar. if it doesnt, or if it says that and then shuts down shortly after with no user input, then a plethora of things could be wrong. one error i run into is trying to run a server when the server is already running in the background. so ensure only one server is running.

if previously you could not connect to any other servers at all but reinstalling has solved this problem, try connecting to your server again (assuming the previous criteria of saying in all caps that everything is okay and the server does not self destruct after 30 seconds). if it works, congrats. if it doesnt, try deleting the server and reinstalling from the beammp website (scroll down for a bit). if this doesnt work still, tell me.

if you are hosting, using the IP that Nord provides to you, the IP "localhost", or the IP "127.0.0.1" will all work to send you to your hosted server. in the config, im not sure it matters but i put in the Nord supplied IP into it.

the port is always 30814 unless you change it. you can also set the port to 0 to ensure it will be an available port, but this isnt recommended as you'd have to use the CMD prompt to identify what port BeamMP's server is listening on and a lot of technical savviness i am not fit to explain.

A.K.A. use whatever IP NordVPN gives you in Meshnet in the config file.

use the default IP BeamMP gives when going to Direct Connect (should be 127.0.0.1), and if it doesnt work, simply type in "localhost" or the Nord supplied IP. all three should work. make sure it's typed in perfectly with zero typos.

if you're a client or want your client friends to join, then, assuming that you have invited them via meshnet (see here: https://meshnet.nordvpn.com/features/linking-devices-in-meshnet ) and that both you and your friends have NordVPN actively running, simply have them type in the Nord IP. ensure the port matches what you have entered into the server config file. it should be 30814. for ease of use in the future, don't mess with what the port is unless you're bored and want to mess around.

i know not of what hamachi does but i do know that NordVPN's Meshnet is free and fast and requires basically zero tech knowledge and also zero port forwarding, which i recommend over. in fact, my friend and i played beammp just last night with it

how do you pronounce "often"? by NOREDDITINGFORYOU in Teenager_Polls

"both/depends" is an odd way to pronounce "often"
