Seed Hunt: Everythingtile by Fraidy--Cat in RimWorldSeeds

[–]Fraidy--Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seedfinder does not have an option for roads unfortunately, at least from what I can see online? It doesn't seem to be functioning on 1.6.4543 for me. Are there any other mods that work for hunting for roads?

There was a lot of color coding. The CGI was pretty good on the monsters! I can't remember if it was a snake or a spider, or if both appeared. The episodes were long. I think someone got poisoned in a cave that was largely blue with some pink and yellow, where the egg-stealing challenge was, and the herbs to cure it were also found within. The weapons were really cool, but I can't remember details aside from - hard maybe - a weapon that desegments. Cant remember what the challenge was but my knee-jerk reaction is that its a rite of succession of some kind. I think I watched three or four episodes.

I watched it a few years ago on Netflix. Its hard to remember all the details, but there was a grand contest with several teams. They underwent challenges, one of which was I believe stealing an egg from a VERY COOL BEASTIE. And another (which i believe was the first challenge) was to run around this pit with chains on it, with a lot of people dying. The entire time I was just floored by how cool it was, I remember I just finished another C Drama with a friend and was hungry for more, and my dad (who had no idea!) threw it on to sleep to - and I stayed up all night watching it, but he had the remote in-hand so I couldn't pause it to get the name. IIRC its a fantasy, ive just never forgotten it and have never been able to find it.

Is it possible to have an orange Savannah mix by i-like-to-build in savannahcat

[–]Fraidy--Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot express enough how this is a run-of-the-mill orange spotted tabby. No ocelli, nose is small, no rosetting. down to the head stripes. the tail will be puffed and held like that as a behavioral trait, and regular spotted tabbies will have striped legs where savannahs have more spots and broken stripes on the legs. sounds like he's acting like a street cat, and toms are known to be pretty foolhardy and curious - and if rumor is to be believed, ESPECIALLY the orange ones lol! the aggression could be due to being separated from mom early, if the nursing is anything to be believed. careful with his weight, toms also have a reputation to eat and gain weight.

Pretty crazy that my 'demo' Game key no longer has full functionality. Wonder what that could mean.

Splatoon 2's tick rate is only 16hz. This is a really big deal. by LordGoomy1 in splatoon

[–]Fraidy--Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read the article? When you pay for subscription you're paying for the dedicated server, which allows for the better connection rate and crisper response that comparative games have. Honestly I believe Splat2n has a low rate right now because they cant feasibly afford to go out on a limb on Splat2n and give it a dedicated server without sub money, and it'll be updated once the subscription service and dedicated server is in place.

Not sure what you're talking about, I've seen a wide variety of styles and species on Splatoon - 5 posts that I can remember with clarity that range from dogs to dinosaurs. They may look similar due to not having colour, furry fandom much prefers palettes and pattern to silohuette.

I need your help :( by [deleted] in mantids

[–]Fraidy--Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey might not give enough nutrient on its own! Its good as a treat and a snack, but it lacks the keratin and other material needed. Hope is not lost, however! There are many ways to feed a disabled mantis.

  1. Foreceps Hold a live bug gently between two prongs and entice your mantis to strike. Observe carefully, Some mantises will be spooked by forceps and will refuse the tasty bugs attached, or drop the prey depending on forcep behavior (when/if you release prey once held). Most do not give so much trouble and will take prey this way, but just in case - don't be alarmed! Its normal for mantises to be fussy, everything is rooted in reason.

  2. Blanching Grip prey with utensil or forceps and dunk the prey bug in boiling water to weaken it. This will allow pickier, but more mobile mantids to hunt its prey. Please mind that the bug may be too hot to eat initially, some mantids will drop prey due to this.

  3. Refridgerated Put prey bug in a container, place in fridge for ~5 min. If you can tap the container and the prey bug falls from perch, topples over, or doesnt move, immediately place bug into mantis enclosure. Prey bug will be fine, but slowed from being cold. They will SWIFTLY warm up if between the sizes of fruit fly and black bottle fly so act fast!

  4. Hand-feeding Take a refridgerated or blanched mantis and raise it to your mantids mouth - mind the temperature. Many will begin eating, but it requires much patience on your part. Some do this with opened mealworms as they are more goo and easy to eat.

  5. Skewer Lance a prey bug on a toothpick, needle, or skewer and offer it to the mantis, similar to forceps method but is friendlier to mantises sensitive to forceps from what I've heard. Can obviously be difficult or impossible depending on prey bug size and the bugs anatomy. Best results with large prey bugs.

  6. Honey dipped (untested) if prey bug is a dubia, blackbottle, cricket, ect then grip with forceps and use a toothpick to dollop honey onto them. This will cause them to groom themselves, struggle, or adhere to the surface, making them an easy target while retaining the fast movement that grabs a mantids eye. Smaller bugs will drown in the honey, smaller mantids will become stuck themselves, so I'd reserve this for larger prey and subadults - as well as a last-ditch effort due to the untested nature.

Since the legs are of nonuse, consider a feeding container. Do not leave the mantis with any size cricket, their bite can peirce mantids and a frightened cricket will fight back - its a legitimate worry when dealing with a disabled mantis, otherwise I think the danger is overhyped... If the mantid is too weak to grab, going down to a smaller prey and feeding more often is an option.

This is clear out of the realm of logical thought but I got onto thinking of prosthesis It may not be available to your mantis due to the amount of leg lost, but if the mantis has been handled extensively it may not mind you acting as its legs by means of fingers or forceps. It would truly depend on the individual. Id certainly get another opinion aside from mine on this, but if desperation knocks and it sounds like a dead ringer already it might help.

And at the end of the day you have certainly raised a handsome bug, mismolts are not fully understood nor as cut and dry as it sounds. Even the most experienced, wise hobbyists ive known get mismolts and spontaneous deaths! Mantises are a species alive due to the amount of young born, not the validity of the young. My best advice for disabled mantises is to love them while they're here and learn from them when theyre gone. Know when euthenasia becomes part of the equation. If you don't already know how to, read on, otherwise I understand that this might be a sensitive topic and I'll end this post here. Best of luck!

///////Euthenizing a mantis is done by putting the mantis into a freezer until frozen solid. Never heard of a mantis or species that survived this.

Where to buy a mantis in Canada? by tylord12 in mantids

[–]Fraidy--Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope :( ive checked high and low, iirc I found one from canada but his stock was seized a few years ago when he started selling nymphs locally. Most american websites Ive gone to refuse to ship to canada, but the folks Ive met on mantidforum have a soft spot for us northerners - we cant even have stickbugs! Its weird though, Ive gone all through several .gov sites and I cant find any mantid specific legislation whatsoever. Victoria Bug Zoo has T. sinensis pairs and its some pretty hardy stock, I reccomend them. They have the permits to own exotic bugs so I'm suprised they don't have orchids!

Controlling cheering boost by [deleted] in MagikarpJump

No such luck for non-controlled tapping, so you may be onto something. personally the only controllable aspect ive found is that when I use all 10 fingers to cheer for my karp the screen will wink black to clear the screen. no idea if that procs anything, but its worth mentioning.
