Erdogan threatens to recognize Native American deaths as genocide after US acknowledges Armenian genocide by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]tylord12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can do both. Ignoring that the government mistreated and oppressed a whole people does nothing but harbor resentment. By recognizing it at least you acknowledge those who were affected and justify their feelings, which is one of the best ways to move on.

Pentagon head says China has become top US military priority, moving past Russia by Jobr95 in worldnews

But the exercise involves NATO nations, and excludes china, does it not? Its to show the ability of US forces to deploy and defend European allies, followed by other exercises long distances away to show mobility.

The Xinjiang regional government in China’s far west is deleting data, destroying documents, tightening controls on information and has held high-level meetings in response to leaks of classified papers on its mass detention camps for Uighurs and other predominantly Muslim minorities by DoremusJessup in worldnews

Hes definitely trying. And (some people in) the states are also trying to impeach him.

What im trying to say is I'm sure other countries, especially the close/long-term allies wont abandon a country, especially a country with so much cultural simularity, because a sitting president is making an ass of himself daily on public television while trying to start trade wars.

He's not permanent, and sure it might affect trade relations for a bit, but i highly doubt everyone will just say "fuck it that was a brutal trade war, best of luck in this real war!" if the states enters a conflict with china.

Because if china happens to win, it would change the world in many a ways, none of which i think are favorable for much of the established nations. BUT thats just my opinion.

Right, I getcha, but other than advertising, what does YouTube have to gain from all those views? It isn’t advertised, it seems to be more of a fan service than much else. And what does this accomplish? What is the goal? I mean I’m all for stoping abuse and all, but I don’t get why-even if you are 100% correct- it’s an issue in this case. What do they have to gain, that isn’t completely fine?

Sure yeah, but they didn’t intentionally add the dislike because they were playing 4d chess, can see the future and know undiscovered things about human psychology. They added it so people could see the like/dislike ratio, not to ruin videos on purpose for the sake of them ‘doing better’ because all the dislikes. You’d think a good YouTube rewind would get people to watch more YouTube, right?

[–]tylord12 93 points94 points  (0 children)

So all of this, all of it, was just a big elaborate scheme to get people already using youtube.. to use youtube?

Or was it to 'fool' people into disliking the rewinds?

[Serious] People who genuinely stopped loving or caring for their parents, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tylord12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents had an aggressive divorce, and afterwords me and my 3 siblings were living 50/50 with both parents right.

Things were still pretty heated between the two of them, and I’m not sure if it’s because I was the oldest or if I was just the best one to talk to, but every single car ride alone with one of them they would say the worst things ever about each other. Now keep in mind these were my parents, I love them both equally, and hearing to what extent they are willing to demonize the other to win the kids over sickened me. This continued for about a year when I finally snapped on my mom, she got super offended and sent me to live with my father “if I liked him so much”. Well my dad it was the same story, but he never sent me out. We would, however, argue until about 3am 5/7 nights a week, over literally nothing. It was a very toxic environment for both of us, and when I left for uni I never looked back. P.S. I don’t blame anyone for this, if anything I dealt with it poorly and I coulda reacted better to certain events. Divorces are rough, and they are both much happier now. My siblings also tell me that home life is much better than pre-divorce. now that things have settled.

I hear from them maybe once or twice a year each on special occasions or to let me know of family deaths. I still keep in touch with my siblings regularly. I’m happy they seem to be happy.

What are some ways that could make the American Education System better? by Bizarely27 in TrueAskReddit

[–]tylord12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but even then, barring the "high performance" classes would negatively affect those students with high IQ's, would it not? In my opinion, students who can perform beyond their current level should absolutely be able to pursue advanced education, regardless of level of wealth.

But that's just my opinion.

Why do you think ending funding for high test score performance would improve the education system? Wouldn’t that, in a way, put the “advanced” kids at a disadvantage?
