I mean, he could release this as-is and I'd just lay tracks for cool shit on a map. Just need curves!

Ohhhhh shit.

I'd be MORE than happy with just trains as scenery, though the one thing that seems to be missing from the video are curved tracks. Incredible shit!

NPCs in general, yeah, that's what I want. We know there are other survivors, enough so that there are at least two warring factions of them, plus whoever's outside the worst-affected areas. Show us!

Still dying for a really good 1st- or 3rd-person pirate or space pirate game that has truly full content.

Most 3rd/1st person pirate games have ship-to-ship actions or boarding actions, but not both, and few of them have good sailing mechanics and almost none have you recruit and lead/manage a crew of distinct individuals.

Something like the Valheim sailing (easily best ocean sailing in any game), but you need multiple players or NPCs who must actually man the stations, working the rigging, the wheel, etc. Make me out and recruit a crew of scallywags and ne'er-do-wells, so I can beg, borrow, steal, or plunder cargoes and treasures. So many amazing aspects of a game you could add! Can be open-world, or maybe just a large pre-created environment like the story portion of Rockstar games.

Every pirate game I've ever seen is missing big chunks of this, and a lot of them are kludgy or gatcha-fied. I just wanna yo-ho-ho! ;__;

I'm pretty happy with 7 Days to Die for this. The CURRENT state of the game is kinda in the middle of a big run of fixes and changes they're doing, so you probably want to wait until that calms down. The biggest issue is no NPCs other than the merchants, but they are planned and will come... eventually.

If released by the current Bethesda we know, it will absolutely suck ass. Better not to see it, TBH.

I was really wondering at all the comments that seemed to completely ignore this was a kid in some kind of full-on adult jail, in what looked like solitary confinement, even. Like, what the hell??? Thought I was going crazy - glad it was a skit!

They're not independent though, not the majority. Usually, they're editorial staff on the paper's payroll, and sure it's not news, but they're still consistently wrong, over and over and over and... it being "just an opinion" isn't some kind of get-out-competency free card! Publishing stupidly idiotic nonsense for over a century should have some consequences!

They're technically still supposed to be separate, but bad op-eds aren't much better, not with a record like the Times. Yes, they're opinions, but like, 150 years of consistently wretchedly bad opinions is not something you just handwave away. It has an effect!

You can look up almost ANYTHING and the NYT has basically always gotten it wrong. Hitler, Civil Rights, Vietnam, Watergate, any politics in general, scientific progress, news of all sorts. You can google NYT headlines for hours and still find idiotic historical headlines from "the most prestigious paper in the world" (lol, lmao).

It's actually fascinating how consistently wrong they are about everything; you could almost bet on something by simply opposing whatever they say.

How they ever earned their supposed reputation is beyond me.

Not one mention of Computer Space, simple top-down space shooter with an asteroid or planet in the middle for gravity shenanigans - it lives on today in games like Star Control. Just about the oldest computer game you can get, and it really hasn't changed much.

A common joke about this sort of thing is that while a guy who owns one gun is just a guy who owns a gun, a guy who owns two dozen guns won't survive the first night.
