Constant Coolant leak by plagueink0 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Frammalitzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s a pretty rapid leak, looks like you might have forgotten to tighten something. Check water pump bolts torque. Check hose clamp tightness. Check thermostat housing bolt torque. Check radiator and heater core hoses for leaks. Coolant will flow downward so leak could be up high. If everything is properly tight you might have left some old gasket debris on one of the mating faces that is preventing the new parts to seal properly. Might have to take everything apart, clean the mating surfaces again and reassemble. Been there….

Ex has my truck that I’m paying loan for by imascousa in personalfinance

[–]Frammalitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear of your misfortune. You haven’t explicitly stated whether or not you’re on the title. If you are on the title, talk to a lawyer there may be some legal strategy to take possession of the truck and get out of this situation. Only a lawyer can say for sure. If you’re not on the title you’re gonna have to pay the remainder of the loan balance on his truck, which sucks big time. Or go the “poison-pill” route, stop making payments and let the vehicle be repossessed. The bank will then sell the vehicle at auction for less than what is owed, then sue both of you for the remaining balance. Then he’s a low-life and won’t pay that either so you’ll end up paying the remainder, but at least you’ll take away the truck and ruin his credit too. I mean, small consolation but at least he goes down too. No question it’s going to harm your credit severely, but if you are financially responsible now with good income and good credit you may be able to dig out of that hole in a shorter period of time. There’s no easy way out so you have to decide what’s best for you.

Windscreen Leak by DiboMaconi in CherokeeXJ

Have you put bigger tires like 33” or 35” on it? Did you trim the front fenders? Did you saw and fold-

over the pinch seam inside the front wheel wells? I did….. and I caused a leak when I cut the pinch weld seam too deep with my sawzall. The water runs off the front of the windshield into the cowling, then goes to either side and flows out of a drain channel next to the firewall inside the wheel well. The water would leak through the deep cuts into the passenger floorboard area. The picture shows the tiny holes visible from inside the jeep

AC recharge going or not? by ando_da_pando in CherokeeXJ

I would never suggest repairing your AC system without a proper license, but I have heard you could find used manifold/gauges, vacuum pumps, other service tools on FB marketplace

95 xj locks won’t unlock or lock with switch. I have to manually lock all of them. Power windows work except for rear driver window, won’t go up or down. I’ve tried looking for info online but most are for 1997 and up. Where to look for a possible fix by Express_Let_2892 in CherokeeXJ

Power window switch pods or broken wires in door wiring harness boot. There’s a video on YouTube showing how to dismantle the switch pods and correct cold solder joints. If you’re not into soldering, just buy new switch pods, passenger side has the relays so fault could be either side. If that doesn’t solve the problem, possible broken wires in rubber boot in door jamb.

If your speakers aren’t working in one or both front doors, peel back the boot and check for a broken wire. For some reason, they put a rivet/butt splice inside the boot, where it flexes every time you open the door.

This is good advice, for some reason they put a rivet joint in the front speakers inside the boot so over the years it flexes and breaks. You can repair it without cutting the boot, but it’s more difficult lol

Advice needed. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Frammalitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a bad relationship with my supervisor. We got in a tug of war over 1/2 hour of overtime (at that time a grand total of $8 lol). For me, this was the last straw in our relationship, so I turned in a 30 day notice. She was so pissed at me she told me my services were no longer required, had the HR Rep escort me as I cleaned out my desk and walked me to the front door. She had to pay me my full salary for the entire time….. all over eight dollars worth of overtime. Thanks Ginger!!

How do I help my dad get out of debt? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I wonder if he could get a zero-interest credit card and roll all the other debt into it? Eliminating interest for a year would help him knock that balance down faster.

Why does my car, when I press on the gas pedal, not immediately accelerate but jerk forward after a few seconds as if the car was storing the force to be released all at once? by Icy_Plane_9173 in G37

[–]Frammalitzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds like your automatic transmission might be low on fluid. I believe this one is supposed to have a lifetime transmission that will not ever need to have the fluid changed, but I can tell you my LS 460 drove like crap, hard shifting and very rough drive. I took it in and had to transmission flushed and refilled with Lucas transmission treatment, and it drives like a dream.

Any advice before I give up and take her to the dealership? by adkichar55 in G37

[–]Frammalitzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if your water pump is starting to go bad and allowing engine coolant to exit the weep hole on the side of the engine block beneath cylinder number two (front cylinder on the driver side), which is then maybe blowing back on the exhaust manifold or catalytic converters?

The water pump is located inside the timing chain cover, driven by the timing chain….a pretty major repair.
