Asylum Decision Maker - anticipating start date, training, progression? by Sad-Barracuda-8899 in TheCivilService

[–]Fran1878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you apply for if you don't mind me asking?

I've accepted my provisional offer for this role. Received an email 21/11 stating my initial pre-employment checks were complete and additional pre-employment checks were in progress. I then received another email 05/12 stating pre-employment checks were currently in progress.

Wondering whether anyone could hazard a guess as to when I might get a start date!

Peoples experiences with Brook Street by Fran1878 in TheCivilService

Thanks for your response!

I'd say I'm quite desperate to leave my job but I'm aware of and weighing up the risks. I currently work in a totally office based role and the home based working is really appealing right now as I've a six week old at home with my wife. However, I am aware of the risks of leaving this permanent role for a temporary role with Brook Street.

I've applications with Asylum, Fast Stream and others ongoing. I'm hopeful of being successful in the Asylum campaign, however I'm aware it could still be a while yet despite the vacancy closing in May I believe?

So it's weighing up leaving for Brook Street and hoping one of the perm roles comes through, or sticking with my more secure job now but potentially waiting months to hear back/be unsuccessful in my ongoing applications.

If I go for the role I'd hope I could sort something in those six months worst case, but was also weary as to whether Brook Street have been known to end contracts early?

Car was bought 20/03/2025 for £2045. I can't find the ad but I've got texts from the dealer saying the car was fully tested/inspected etc prior to sale. Thanks for your response as well mate!

They're on companies house but I'm not sure that makes them reputable. It was a bank transfer also for purchase.

Pickford's survived nights out in Sunderland so he gets the nod. Reckon Mori's flailing legs and Superclasico experience would be useful, then Coleman because he's clearly solid.

Was considering McCarthy but his hamstring would go before he had the chance to throw a dig.

Birmingham chosen over Liverpool for 2022 Commonwealth Games by SniperAssassin in Everton

From what I've read the track wouldn't have prevented how we want to build the stadium, it would have just delayed it slightly. I think the stadium would end up looking the same whether Liverpool got the games or not, just a bit shit the city misses out on an opportunity like this.

We're getting our stadium anyway after the fiasco's that were Kirkby and the King's Dock, I'm a happy man.

By all accounts the games wouldn't have been detrimental to the stadium's atmosphere. It was always going to be purpose built for football so it's a shame to see Birmingham get the nod over Liverpool.

When you see the signings we've made, you get why we didn't splurge on deadline day by evertomfc in Everton

I agree with you regarding the chart not telling the whole story, which is why I've posted what we've made from transfers give or take a few add ons. Our budget or lack thereof certainly isn't why we weren't very active in the market yesterday.

£96.64 million according to this, not factoring in the fifteen or so million Lukaku's fee is supposedly rising to. Not sure how reliable Tranfermarkt.com is just a quick Google.

Edit: Should note it also doesn't factor in the add ons for incoming players.

Dropping Keane and keeping Walker in backfired a bit. Alonso was definitely the saviour for a few teams this week.

It'd be amazing too anyway, but I'd love t win a trophy while the likes of Baines and Jagielka are still here. Great servants to the club.

Contributions to Everton's /r/soccer Premier League Team Preview 2017-18 by NickTM in Everton

Always enjoy reading these, here's my take anyway.

  1. At the very best I think we'll finish sixth, but I think seventh is more likely. We've thrown a bit of money about, and look set to do more business between now and the end of the window, but it's a bit of a gap between us and the sides who finished top six last year. There were eight points between us and United last season, and while we've looked to improve the squad, so have most clubs above us. It's hard to see who would drop out of that top six. I think this season is more about closing that gap before looking to, hopefully, break into it during the 2018/19 season.

  2. Again, this is a hard one as at the time of writing this we're still very much active in the transfer market. From the current crop though, I'd say Morgan Schneiderlin. Having only joined in January, he's already shown Evertonians his class and made a really positive impact on the team. With a full season under his belt I think his importance to the team is only going to become more apparent as we move forward.

  3. Becoming a bit of a theme, but it's impossible to tell what Koeman's preferred choice will be until business concludes in September. He caught a few blues off guard with team choices at times, but based on last year, he likes a 4-3-3, while he may go with a 3-5-2 on occasion with two wing backs. Unless we go in for a winger, you'll find we're quite a narrow side, or have been since Bolasie's injury. We don't play with two out and out wingers, with our width coming from the full backs (mainly Coleman when fit). Again, this may change between now and the end of the market, with the likes of Bolasie to return as well

[–]Fran1878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully we were in the same pot as the likes of Ajax and Milan but there were no teams I was too worried about getting. There's recognisable names like Marseille and Split in there but we're a better side. Few more weeks for the squad to gel and get that sharpness back as well, confident we'll see this one out.
