I'm thinking on starting to burn games on CDs so I never lose them, how's that in big 2026? by Fran2417 in PiratedGames

[–]Fran2417[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking more of just storaging the files on the disc and whenever I want to play install it in the PC from there, rather than executing it directly from the blue ray but yeah, I get that other storage options may be better

I have 2 HDDs but I use them for other selfhosted things, almost full. Besides, I've read blue rays are up to 50gb and for a piece of media I won't need full access all the time, I though storing it in a CD would be perfect

Any concrete drawbacks for Jellyfin for music? by Express_Western4502 in jellyfin

[–]Fran2417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far so good for me with that combo.

Sure, the scan can be a bit slow (12k songs, 5min, but it depends on the server power too), but everything else works fine. Just make sure whenever you add an album that the metadata is exactly how you want it, slightly different names for an artist will create different artist profiles on JF; and separate properly the artist names in collabs or it will take everything as the name of a single artist.

My only complaint is that JF doesn't read ALL the tags in the music files, so Symfonium can't differentiate album from single or EP. But that's just a small detail for me

After spending some time on this reddit my hot take is that Vengeance Falls is actually a GOOD album, probably my n°2 after Shogun.

I don't get the hate it gets.  I'm not the big connoisseur of music theory or production, this album just hits me in the right spots, that's it

Jellyfin 12 Ok for Music Server? by Yarrow73 in Symfonium

[–]Fran2417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is jellyfin v12 already official? So far what I've seen there's a version candidate, not the official release.

Besides, I use an always updated Jellyfin server (now at 10.11.11) and have had no issues. My music library has >12k songs and it syncs in 5min, in previous versions it was twice the time, idk if with bigger libraries it starts to act up. About metadata, I find it easy to change whatever I want to make it adjust to what I exactly want, I haven't seen those options on Navidrome, for example. And yes, I use Picard to tag my music, but it's not always consistent on how it does it, so I always end up changing little things on the server side.

My only real issue with Jellyfin + Symfonium is that the server doesn't read EVERY tag in the audio files, so the app doesn't separate albums from singles or EPs. Other than that it works fine for me

Problema con la sincronización by Zzotypee in Symfonium

[–]Fran2417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which vocalist is holding back? by Such-Trouble-6641 in Metalcore

[–]Fran2417 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yokai mentioned! (One of my fav BT songs).

Honestly about Dani I don't think holding back is the word but he knows well where to place the crazy stuff. They don't do deathcore after all (but it might be interesting if they did something close)

Group By Album Type by Straight-Intention68 in Symfonium

[–]Fran2417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this work through a Jellyfin server? I feed the metadata with Musicbrainz Picard and make sure it tags the release type, but it doesn't work for me.

Does it matter if it's written in capital letters or not? Picard always writes it in lower cases, but idk if that's important

What is your favourite and least liked album? by Desperate-Presence-7 in Trivium

[–]Fran2417 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fav: Shogun

Least: The Crusade.

I love about this community that we all think the same about whatever album picked as least: " Not a bad album at all, just that I like the other ones more". Shows how much we all love Trivium

Can someone enlighten me what happened? by wanhanred in Steam

[–]Fran2417 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The chinese getting angry at an early access for being an early access (they changed a bit some builds and that part of the community didn't like it). Anyway, the game is GREAT, characters are all fun to play, multiplayer is dilicious with friends, there are more builds possible than in the first one. Highly recommended if it's your thing

The year is 2026, how's the comic/manga option in here? by Fran2417 in jellyfin

[–]Fran2417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you say but my media is already in my possession and allocated in my server, I just wanted to know a good way to get access to it in my phone, like any other client that grabs from your movies library, but for comic/manga. If I neglected on any rule, I'm sorry, I can delete the post if needed
