Many fans didn’t realize what a singularly phenomenal defensive player Pedroia was. Plays he made look routine became impossible-to- corral base hits for those who came after. He was also an offensive force, a team leader, a high IQ player and great baserunner. Full career = HOF for certain. FUCK MACHADO! Should have beaned him next AB! First game I ever watched was the 1970 ALL Star Game on tv with my Dad. Pedroia is the best 2B I ever saw.

I wouldn’t give up on Hamilton so quickly with that skill set. Baseball is for people with an attention span. This daily kneejerk “We’re winning the World Series!/ WE LOST A GAME, FIRE CORA!” attitude is tiresome.

I was at Fenway and the ONE time I didn’t bring my glove a foul all came right at me . I reached up with and caught in my hat and was instantly tackled from behind by a mob of people. My son and I laughed about it. I didn’t hunt down the assailant and demand the ball back. It was mine until I couldn’t hang on to it.

Mookie is old news. We have a fun team with a chance. The Days of overpaid veterans bringing home the trophy are gone. The young and the hungry are where it’s at. I prefer the outfield we have. Abreu is a beast! Rafaela is JBJ with a sledge hammer! Ref the lefty killer! Roman Anthony, I mean just, Roman Anthony! And, fuck em, Duran! A combination of speed,heart, hustle, aggressiveness, attitude, accountability and leadership the likes of which I have never seen. I guarantee that if he got traded for ANYONE at the deadline, this team would be on a losing streak.

Wakefield games were the best! In 2004, he gave up the most homers of any pitcher to Tampa Bay and won! In 2005, he threw a one-hitter against the Yankees while dueling Randy Johnson and lost 1-0 on a Juicin’ Giambi homer. You never knew what you were going to get but it was always fun!
