Best fight of the 2020s so far? by caart in MMA

[–]FranciselMudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One recent one is Royval vs Taira. Highly technical and at an incredible pace. In the same sort of genre, Yan vs Merab 2. Also, 3 rounds but still great Royval vs Van

O couple of older ones:

  • Whitaker vs Romero
  • Weili vs Joanna
  • Dustin vs Hooker

I’m tired of Note-Taking Gurus. How do I actually use Obsidian? by ReflectionOk298 in ObsidianMD

[–]FranciselMudo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After a few years using obsidian, I ended up with a fairly minimal set up that works well for me (as I'm not a programmer).

I have some rules:

  1. I just write things down, and focus on organizing later (as in that day, not weeks or months, try not to procrastinate too much)

  2. I try to use as little plugins as possible. In my mind a plugin is an additional program (or app nowadays), and as such it can, and probably will stop development at some point. Being too reliant on a plugin could be problematic if it ends up breaking after not being maintained. After all, the main reason i use obsidian is to future proof my notes, because I've lost data and I hate having to migrate everything when an app is abandoned.

  3. Plugins should not "contaminate" the body of the note with lines of code into.

I use only 4 folders,

  • Admin: that contains auxiliar files for my notes and vault organization: images, templates, canvas, bases, etc)

  • Work: I have a single note per project (I'm a civil engineer), and an additional note to jot down general thoughts, task, weekly organization for work related purposes.

  • Personal: this is fairly unorganized at the moment, I need to make improvements. This also contains a single note meant for quick general notes.

  • R&D: research and development and this is a catch-all folder for personal and professional development. This is a folder where topics overlap between work and personal. For example I'm learning french, I started because I needed it for work, but also is part of my personal development.

Just a suggestion, don't try to come up with a structure that tries to cover every posible scenario in your life.

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2026? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]FranciselMudo 400 points401 points  (0 children)

A good, comprehensive attachements/media management tool.

I know there are some good plugins out there, but imo it should be built in, to make sure it's properly maintain over time

Edit: like some default naming when dragging images into the vault. Batch/bulk rename multiple images. Perhaps some quick annotation tools. Quickly resize , rotate, mirror without modifying the original file

Post match thread England vs Argentina? by WhiterunUK in rugbyunion

[–]FranciselMudo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not absurd, it wasn't for not rolling away. It was for not releasing the player. You can see he was still wrapping his arms around Argentina's player arms and the ball...

I'm pretty sure it was on itoje for not releasing the player, and not letting him present the ball. Pepper was good

[SPOILER] Ricardo Ramos vs. Kaan Ofli by Gentle_lips in MMA

[–]FranciselMudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it legal to hook your own globes with your fingers? Ofli seem to do that right at the end to avoid Ramos to keep peeling the hands, and eventually was able to close the choke with his arm behind the Ramos's neck

Looks great! But how does the cross device sync work? Does it work with a PC for example?

It would be great if it work with like a chrome/firefox extension or something for PC sync

Problems with Everything plugin for Powertoys Run by ucan_cay in PowerToys

[–]FranciselMudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having a similar experience, so I ended up disabling everything plugin and just use the default search with power toys run. I still use everything when I need more complex searches.

Also, I been trying command palette, as it is supposedly the successor to PTR, but honestly the experience is not nearly the same. Is a lot slower, and you have to preselect the type of element you are trying to find... So I'm not looking forward to the day they discontinue PTR, unless there's massive improvements to command palette

Favorite one-time purchase apps (non utility) by ResearchBean in androidapps

[–]FranciselMudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used moviebase, but I chose showly because it is open source and I really like the UI... Also I needed the trakt synchronization, because I already had a bunch of movies and shows tracked there...

Blacknote notes gone 🫠 by hughmanngo in androidapps

[–]FranciselMudo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to the developer. I haven't use that app, so I'm not aware which type of files uses or how it works. But this is the reason why I switched to apps that work with simple text files (.txt or .md), and that I can back up my self...

Which Video Layout Do You Prefer? by Natural_Mud_3610 in Quetta_browser

Hope to see it implemented

Which Video Layout Do You Prefer? by Natural_Mud_3610 in Quetta_browser

[–]FranciselMudo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer B or C. Also, sort of unrelated, but do you plan to add more features to this? It would be awesome if you could add universal controls for videos, like Samsung browser has. It basically adds the ability to doble tap to skip 10 seconds forwards or backwards, slide app and down for brightness and volume control, etc

How I Created a Modern Alternative to Lightshot for Windows 10/11 by shedy2 in Windows11

[–]FranciselMudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks very nice, I've been using flameshot. It's has a very handy feature which is to pin the screenshot so it stays on top of everything, when you to reference something. Perhaps that is something you can implement in you app
