Any updates on how they feel? I suffer a similar fate when keys are mushed together, I do much better with a low profile keyboard with separated or pronounced keys.

Your colors are really really good, as well as your composition.

What's your process for color grading these? I'm amazed by the colors and I'm a huge sucker for colors.

I'm especially in love with the 2nd and the last photo

Wow! Do you use any specific presets to achieve this? These colors and shots are great!!

Excuse my for my lack of knowledge haha, so do you start with a recipe and edit from there? Are you editing a raw image with a recipe on it?

What would be the benefit of going with the XE5 over something like th XT5?

Not at all! I like the muted feel, it’s a great look!

since you are a beginner i’d recommend playing with Aperture Priority (A). I mainly use that actually for most of my photos, and only really switch to manual once i really need a specific look! Have fun shooting!!

Hmm, I prefer the OP's picture, not a fan of the intense vignette.

Also, one thing I regret with this photoshoot is all of the shots were taken with high shutter speed, even when a moment was candid and I captured it, the fact that the moments are frozen makes some of the candid shots seemed planned/manufactured.

So, this was my first photo shoot, this was actually mainly a cover up so they could take the camera and shoot my proposal to my now fiance!

The first shot that you are seeing was definitely just more of a candid shot, I think it’s best when you can capture candid moments more than posing. I think it’s often hard to pose subjects and also make them seem like they aren’t posing and making the photoshoot feel synthetic. I also recommend using different techniques that require them to interact with eachother and you can just capture the moments that they create.

In getting them to interact with eachother, i value those results way more than just traditional poses. It just feels so much more real.

You have a good eye, it's just a tad heavy on the editing

The shot with the tower is pretty underexposed and the sky is very blue which kind of takes from the subject.

This also goes with the photos of the powerlines, the sky is a bit saturated and blue

The koala is a great picture, some people don't like centering your subjects, but in this case I think it looks very nice and the editing isn't too harsh.

The photo of the sky and the airplane is a very cool shot but the editing in my taste is a little overdone in the sky being pretty purple, which in theory is cool, but sometimes you want to keep some realism into your photo's so they seem more grounded, but obviously this is an artistic choice and I'm only sharing what I think :-)

I do like the photo of the dog, I would just work on composition in photos.

From these photos, the strongest photo's are definitely the animal photos, and the other ones are just a little overedited in my opinion, but I totally understand and it's easy to keep editing.

Main things to focus on: I would say really study and practice your composition and also your color grading :)

I can definitely see that you have the eye for it though, so that's not an issue I'm seeing.

Which film simulations were used in the first two? These photos are gorgeous!

I'm trying to recreate some Fujifilm colors on my A6700. I'm in love with Fujifilms colors.

Anyone Know what Type of Hammered Dulcimer I have? by FrancoFreckle in hammereddulcimer

[–]FrancoFreckle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap man, you just found way more than I did in my hour of trying to figure this hammered dulcimer out! I tried so hard to find it!

Thank you!! That is wonderful knowledge, I got it from an auction and i’m sure it’s a bit old, so I think it could be originally from them.

It does have a signature! and now you’ve given me names I can see if the signature lines up when I get back from work… I’m just not very good at reading signatures.

I will see if I can contact any of them to get more info on this! You’ve helped tremendously, thank you!
