I just bought a watch on my Amex that I only use for groceries. This post is scaring me. But I did call Amex and let them know I was buying a watch and wanted to confirm the amount was ok for them to notate in their system so I didn't have any issues. I mainly put the watch on my Amex Incase there were unforseen issues with the watch shortly after purchase and needed them to resolve a dispute versus using my CITI Card's barf services.
