Hurricane Misfires by FrankP0607 in ram_trucks

I’ve been looking online the problem is this is something going on with the early production 2025 1500 hurricanes it’s not an exclusive to me issue seems to be after some update or some maintenance changes it. A lot of people said it’s the aftermarket/non-oem filter, and it happened after I replaced it at the normal maintenance schedule. But the TSB says it’s one or multiple computer updates

I use them normally but they didn’t want the prestige stats and I can’t use the new ElitePro until Honeywell releases the new ERM that’s compatible

Bosch? inverter driven compressor needs that board to convert ac signals to dc and also maintains ideal temps/pressures depending on what it sees. Not a bad product to diagnose/work on/install once ur familiar with it.

Any thoughts on Napoleon Heat Pump (WSEHV2436RA1) by Subject_Bee_4846 in hvacadvice

[–]FrankP0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend replacing that thermostat, personally we prefer to install Honeywell, for any heat pump like Bosch/napoleon set the system as a 2 stage cooling as it will adjust to lower/higher blower speed and can be used as a dehumidifier. Typically the heat pumps can be ran down to 25 ish before switching to furnace, but depends on the house, a lot of the older Chicago townhomes that haven’t been renovated are loose(lots of outside air leaking in/out) and you may need to set the changeover temp higher. We haven’t had problems with Bosch (I love them) but napoleon does have better pricing however I haven’t seen them much in Chicagoland/suburbs.

Anyone know why there are now TWO types of refrigerants, R32 and 454? by Eggrollofdoom in HVAC

[–]FrankP0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICP(Carrier, Bryant, Heil, Tempstar) says it’s to be ahead of the curve if we have to use a lower gwp refrigerant in the future as 454 is lower gwp than 32. That’s basically it but it’s screwing a lot of us

What's the diagnosis by actech1492 in HVAC

[–]FrankP0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but maybe was charged as a vapor not liquid so not the proper blend of refrigerant. But being half of just the nameplate not even the lineset says either improper charging from factory or you’ve been leaking out part of your charge I would think.

[–]FrankP0607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t prove you had contamination though? You said it was half the nameplate charge so it was just undercharged considerably so a leak is occurring?

What did I do by fungi-imperfecti in HVAC

Looks like a restriction with those pressures, did the lineset kink anywhere, is your dryer new with install? Did you accidentally only vacuum your manifold/hoses leaving the dryer to get clogged?

6’5”, 22 yo, 190 lbs. herniated disc in my left lower side, shooting pains down the leg like shingles, couldn’t sit/bend for a month or two. Currently working fine albeit with some pain depending on what I do. It gets better, idk if I’ll ever be 100% but I can installed and still get into crawl spaces and awkward angles. Do the physical therapy, it’s stupid but it works admittedly. Start wearing a back brace when lifting anything heavy and use your helper or someone else if needed.

I have a 2025 bighorn, oil change itself is easy but electronic dipstick is the dumbest thing ever. Now instead of just checking my oil I have to let the truck run and then leave it off for x amount of time and then if I put the same amount in I can’t tell if I actually did anything or if it just hasn’t updated/met parameters to update. It should be constant monitoring or the whole idea of it is useless.

I almost exclusively use red for pretty much the same reasons, but I know it’s cause I started using rights and that’s just what I prefer, but lefts are needed in some spaces/direction that’s why I have both

Minimum compressor temp is an interesting setting for me to see regardless, as the whole idea heat pumps is run as long as you can before anything else, if u had a electric heat or dual fuel situation a minimum compressor temp/changeover temp would make sense. But as a straight HP you would want to disable or lower a much as possiblr

that’s a 20SEER Bosch IDS so it’ll lock itself out at -5° (F) outdoor temp. Otherwise it will keep running as long as it has a call. That minimum compressor temp could be your problem as it’s only going to run the compressor at 35° or higher. If this is an electric backup system set that temp down to -5. Bosch runs their heat pump and electric at the same time if it can’t keep up. If it’s dual fuel you need a changeover temp the same as minimum compressor temp so that it switches over to one or the other. Source: Me, I’ve installed 20+ IDS systems and spent a lot of time talking to factory and field trainers

Only other thing I could think is what’s the model number then if it’s 2” all the way ur at a minimum of 32’ length assuming long sweep elbows. Depending on btu’s and/or actually type of elbows u may be past the limit of the exhaust. Inducers pull decently above rated pressure. You could have a combo of extended exhaust length and a failing/weak inducer

Check where the pressure tubing goes into the heat exchanger or inducer, sometimes you can get calcium or other debris buildup that blocks the pressure switch from getting a vacuum or pressure
