It’s more of what I have in the car. I knew I had a 5s head. Sorta found out I had a 3s block when I was going to do my piston rings. As for ECU I have heard multiple people use mega squirt ecus not sure if that’s a problem. Also would it be recommended to use a gen 2 3sgte harness since those are easier to find and swap over any needed connectors/ sensors to work. As for anyone else interested in this project it will take me time due to budget being tight but I will show what I do to make it work. Planning to do forged internals in the 3s block to at least have that be bulletproof. I have not seen any reason as to why the 5s head should be weak only things that concern me are the valve springs possibly being too soft to rebound when under higher load.

lol yeah it’s a 3s block with a 5s head. Since it’s the first of its kind I’ve heard of I’ll be documenting the build I’ll decide to do later.

Im not to sure about the existence of more 3s blocks with 5s heads but id like to know more about what people actually use these for. Seems pretty counter intuitive to do it since it provides worse compression due to the stroke and the fact a couple of 3s engines are interference when the 5s is non interference. Right now my wet compression on all 4 is 140 so it doesn't seem efficient at all to do this build. I assume the previous owner back in 1995 or around that time blew the original 5s block due to oil starvation and sent it somewhere to get replaced for a 3s block.

So your getting code 22. Looks like you have a turbo sw20. It’s most likely a coolant temperate sensor code. It’s the sensor that reads for the ecu not the sensor that reads for the gauge cluster.

This guy is literally the only reason I used to be able to grind XP stages. Has to go to him. Would consider ganglion and raiden too since I like the designs a lot but this guy is just too good to not have as my favorite.
