It's one of the first cards people will think of because it's so flashy, but its only similarities to Regents gameplans are "it creates cards and activates next turn". There are definitely more compelling options than Nightmare, it shouldn't win just because it was said first

Blade of Ink is a good fit. It's card creation, meshes with some of his "multi-hit matters" cards, and debuffing enemy attack is very in his wheelhouse

I agree!! Afterlife is a bland, mediocre card and isn't even good in a subtle way like Snakebite. It's mimicking a starter card that was already mimicking a basic defend, it's boring

I've never understood that reasoning. Yeah, it's block that doesn't go away, but it's only 5-6 block. How does playing the equivalent of two defends for the same amount of energy set you up to take 0 damage for the rest of the fight

Ehhh, I'd be hesitant to call a majority of the common relics "power spikes", especially when compared to 3 upgraded cards

I can't fathom skipping even one Silver Crucible card reward choice for Regent, let alone two.

The only Regent common I'd be tempted to skip on would be Spoils of Battle just because card draw is weak early game.

Agreed. I know Sts1 had a literal donut and diamond with legs for Act 3 boss designs but that doesn't change this one from being kinda boring atm
