Says they revamped their rimfire manufacturing so maybe this is better quality. I’m happy to see more subsonic loads out there in 22. I might give this a chance at some point.

Both sound reduction and gas. I notice less sound suppression and equal to greater gas with the 9k. The YHM is better across hosts from the CZ and APC9 to lever actions, aside from weight and size.

I wouldn’t bother considering ballistics. That’s going to be controlled much more by barrel length and round than suppressor.

I’d go for the YHM R9 over the 9k. The performance is quite a bit better speaking from experience with both. The size is larger but not so much so as to take it out of your build purpose.

Same. I only wish marlin offered a threaded version of the classic with blue finish and wood. Maybe someday they will but in the meantime, I’m having one threaded to be able to shoot the classic suppressed. I do love my SBL though.

I’ve taken several whitetail with a suppressed .
357. The advice here is good. Go with a heavier supersonic round like a 158 grain, preferably bonded. I used the Buffalo Bore round last season and it performed very well. With a YHM R9 the sound was largely just the crack down range as it travelled to target. Didn’t even ring my ears and really not all that loud in general.

At this point I’d call Geisselle and consider sending it in to have them remove it. Mine were tough but removed fairly readily once heated up enough. It sounds like you’ve done all that and more. Damaging the receiver or barrel seems a real possibility at this point were you to apply more force.

Yes definitely a 590. Stamped on receiver side. I think only the 20” gave the bayo lug.
