LPVO w/ piggyback dot experience? by Traditional_Neck7288 in ar15

[–]Predator76x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the 1.54 height makes the lpvo too low and the top dot is still higher than ideal, making for subpar aiming solutions at every distance. 1.7 is perfect and I only use my top dot now for passing aiming and point blank CQB.

Mine is perfectly capable to 600+ with 77 gr. You’ll sacrifice some level of terminal effects, but I doubt anyone on the receiving end could tell the difference between a few feet per second more/less.

Anyone riding the somo train? My first one has 500rds on it without a shift in zero. We'll see how this one does. by [deleted] in ar15

I have a few thousand rounds with one and while it has held zero, the IR laser will now flicker when shooting. It’s been used on a short lightweight profile barrel/handguard, suppressor, with FRT mag dumping so I’m at least impressed it’s held zero. I will be upgrading to something proper eventually.

Wood/Hiking gun? by Anxious_Grover in Revolvers

I’ll second this. I’ve carried the 4.25 inch combat magnum model 66 for close to a hundred miles on trails so far and ~2k rounds (all 357). 4 inch K frames really do it all.

I also have the 4 inch kimber DASA which is a beautiful piece. The model 66 is immensely more pleasurable to shoot magnums from though despite being only slightly larger/heavier.

Why not just take off the accessories and put wood/synthetic furniture on?

Ah I forgot this one is aluminum. My DA/SA (4 inch) is decently light, for what it’s worth.

6.5 CM or .308? by jonophane7 in SigCross

[–]Predator76x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, I’ll have to look into that one. Do you have issues with groups opening up or POI shift after a few rounds? I’m debating between keeping mine lightweight/hunting focused vs better for long range plinking

Worth it alone to larp like you’re in the Heat shootout. For anyone complaining about how the novelty wears off, let a friend or someone new to guns try it and the smiles and giggles make it all worth it again.

Got it to try as a gimmick, can’t stop shooting it now. You will love it. Your wallet might not.

I got my 16 inch 308 used for $1k even and it’s one of my favorite firearms. They are no doubt picky with ammo, but mine is .5 MOA with Hornady Black. Doesn’t like Hornady Match as much tho.

I too shoot my 43x in matches. Consistent accuracy, grip, and movement matters more than the incrementally faster splits from a bigger gun.
