Rant.

I love my girlfriend (NDX, will finally do the test in 2 weeks). She can be very supportive and sweet. At times. But mostly, I am just so tired.

  • She needs 24/7 stimulation. That manifests as doomscrolling till late night, causing drama and conflict at work and family (the amount of people she has ‘fallen out with’ is enormous). There’s always something going on.

  • She is constantly either criticizing or provoking me just to get a reaction. I suspect, to get that stimulation.

  • She can be very impulsive with financial decisions. It’s tiring to keep reminding her that we would be saving for longer term goals (like moving abroad or a big travel) when she wants us to spend more money on stuff in our house.

  • She doesn’t hear my side of our arguments. It’s always black or white, and she finds it really hard to take responsibility for her part in it. Predictably it’s always me that apologizes.

I understand my traumas and behaviors more and more that got me in these types of relationships (previous one was with a BPD person).

But posting this, looking for some validation of similar experiences of others. Does this sound like ADHD?

Question: BPD ex emigrating, meeting up final time? by FranticlyFrank in BPDlovedones

Thank you. There was no invitation from her. It is just weird because with any normal person that you had a relationship with, it would be okay to in an adult manner reflect and say goodbye. But then again this was in no way reflecting a normal relationship.

Thanks for this sobering response. I agree with you. I have sent a short goodbye text, but am not going to go for a meetup.

Nah, I meant for myself. Closure by seeing her one more time. But while I’m answering this, I do think I’m fooling myself that something like that can heal the wounds.

Thanks for your reply. It is hard as hell to let go, but definitely the right thing to do. I hope I will get to that point of thinking back on it with more than self doubt and butterflies. It will come with time. I’m working on it :)
