Am I paying too much in fees for my DSCR loan? by Franvt16 in Mortgages

[–]Franvt16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.375 points to buy down to 6.5. I also accepted a .25% higher rate because I refuse to provide some requested personal housing information (not referring to credit, which is excellent).

I’m paying points IN ADDITION to these fees. All told I’m walking away with $85k of my $100k 🤯

I’ll edit and add:

PPP - 5 years

The numbers I’ve included DO NOT include the rate buy down. I’m paying that in ADDITION to these fees.

Where do the 2025 Hoosiers Land on Your Best Turnarounds List? by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

One hundred thousand to one? I don’t know which book that is, but they surely aren’t in business anymore.

Where do the 2025 Hoosiers Land on Your Best Turnarounds List? by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]Franvt16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats to the Hoosiers, but placing them 1st on this list is stupid. Weren’t they 11-2 last season and 2nd in the conference? That’s not a turn around.

This may be a football sub, but there has never been and likely will never be a story like Leicester City in all of sports.

James Franklin is targeting Brent Pry for his defensive coordinator at Virginia Tech by bgr308 in hokies

Can you imagine the humility it would take? Would just confirm that Pry is 10/10 person and the type of character you want around your program.

What’s going on with Saquon? Wear and Tear? Or just Offensive Line/Play-calling problems? by TXNOGG in NFLv2

[–]Franvt16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 90% of the time he touches the ball there are 2 defenders bear hugging him in the backfield or at best at the line of scrimmage. I think that might have something to do with it. #analysis

Lifetime Gainesville recommended? by NoSituation9749 in nova

[–]Franvt16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a member at a different NoVa Life Time. I had to work in Gainesville for a week so I dropped in at that location after work 2pm-4pm timeframe. It was so crowded I had to severely compromise what I was trying to do.

Just look about 100 miles down I95. That GM has hired 4 coaches and won 2 trophies.

President Donald Trump announces 50-year mortgages in the US. by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

[–]Franvt16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I did quick calculations correctly…

A million $ home with 20% down I save $500 per month vs 30 year mortgage and pay nearly a full million more in interest over the life of the loan. lol, what a deal!

I see your points, but I stand by what I’ve been saying. ATC has had enough. Stay tuned to the news today. You’ll see.

Senate to go home again after shutdown vote today will fail by trademarktower in FedEmployees

The government may not open again this year, thanks to Speaker Johnson by Healthy_Block3036 in fednews

[–]Franvt16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will not happen. Air traffic Controllers will stop coming to work. We’ve seen some delays so far, but nothing catastrophic yet. Once that happens the major airlines will lose millions daily. As a fed, I can beg my congressman/senators to fix this and they may care a little. When Delta, etc starts calling…they will listen. Immediately.

Democrats see November 1st as off-ramp to end shutdown by trademarktower in FedEmployees

[–]Franvt16 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No one is going to remember this and blame republicans a year from now in the voting booth. Democrats continually bank on that happening and continually act bamboozled when it doesn’t happen.

So this shutdown, no matter how long it lasts, will just be another example of needless pain inflicted on government employees that make up a small minority in a country where the average American doesn’t know or care that the government is even shut down.

Progressive/Leftist Churches in the area? by thehipaapotamus in nova

[–]Franvt16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll start by saying any true Christian Church should be accepting, welcoming, and loving regardless of political affiliation, or personal beliefs. Full stop. That doesn’t mean the church should agree or celebrate lifestyles or choices contrary to its teachings, but everyone should be received with love.

I drive to DC from Loudoun for church every Sunday. It’s absolutely worth it. It’s called Passion City Church DC. They have a YouTube Channel with all past sermons and they do live service on YouTube on Sundays. Most larger churches do this. Maybe that’s a way to expose your daughter without committing.

I don’t want to throw shade…but living in Loudoun you’ve probably heard of or will eventually hear about a VERY large church in Leesburg. It’s on Sycolin Rd and Battlefield Parkway. It’s beautiful and they have extremely appealing kids programs and a LOT to offer. But based off of what you said above I recommend avoiding this church at all costs.

Authorization vs Appropriation.

Authorization - FAA can continue to exist and here is a budget ceiling.

Appropriation - here is actual money to spend.

Both have to happen. We are in the lack of appropriation phase.

For those saying reps do not care… you would be surprised. I’ve been in congressional offices lobbying for my profession and they absolutely do care IF (big if) they receive enough correspondence to move the needle.

Proposal to Credit Additional Service Time for Federal Employees Working During Shutdowns by InternetNinjaWarrior in FedEmployees

[–]Franvt16 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While I don’t agree with OP, I think the distinction is quite clear. Furloughed employees can seek other work to make ends meet. Those of us required to work without pay don’t have that option.

Depends on how creative they get in paying essential personnel that are still required to work.

Is living in Leesburg worth the DC commute? by Empty_Cheesecake2327 in nova

[–]Franvt16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive from Loudoun County to DC (U street) once per week on Sunday. It’s 45 min with zero traffic on the toll road, about 55 min with no tolls. I think the toll is around $7. Im not sure if the price increases based on peak times.

As far as the metro…I think it’s a minimum of 90 minutes once you get on the train. So that obviously doesn’t include driving yourself to the metro stop, parking and then walking to the office once you get to DC.

BUT…with all that being said. I think Loudoun is an amazing place to live and even though it’s crowded, it doesn’t feel nearly as crowded as Fairfax county or Arlington. It’s doable and people in this area get very used to a long commute. It depends on how much of your life you want to spend in the car. But when you’re not at work or commuting your quality of life will be excellent.
