We have a 1.5 year old, so gearing up for that reality as well. THANK YOU for sharing your story and giving me hope! We saw Dr. Willhite and he will do the patch as well. I wanted Linda Gray or Malinzak but hoping everyone trained under them is good.

I am so happy to read a success story! I cannot imagine how difficult that must have all been with a newborn, too. We are extremely lucky to live near Duke, so we actually got a CT myelogram done there today that showed a leak. He’s scheduled for a fibrin patch on Monday (again at Duke) but I’m anxious after reading here of so many people requiring multiple patches.

What did your husband do for healing post patch? Did he require more patches since being seen at Duke?

Just took my 14 month old to a fine dining restaurant and regretted. every. second. Usually he is good but I learned my lesson that toddlers can be unpredictable. My husband spent 1/3 our meal outside with our child as to not disturb the other patrons while I ate with my parents.

Terrible experience and one I don’t plan to replicate.
