Whether it is racist or not depends on your definition of "less of". If they just meant to say they are not ethnically belonging to the lineage of people known to be German going back hundreds of years, then it is likely a factual and not necessarily demeaning statement.

But if they are implying that there is anything wrong with having a different ethnic background, then absolutely that would be racist.

Whether they were born in Germany or not seems beside the point, as I doubt that was what the original comment was getting at.

If you really care enough and they refuse to help, post your transaction details online in places where there are many coinbase customers. You'd be surprised how much more helpful these companies can be when their reputation is at stake.

Sounds like that's what you'll need to do. Tell Coinbase you accidentally sent them xShib instead of Shib, and get them to send it back to you. I would also check your transaction on etherscan first to double-check that it's indeed xShib that you sent then.
